Our expectations are a curse for young players.
For me it's not expectation, I'd never heard of him until we signed him. But we're told by some Lyon watching Evertonians that he was great for them last season and should be in ahead of Keane but in the two or three appearances he's made so far he's looked worse than Keane. For some reason they're taking that personally but can't tell us what he actually offers.
Ultimately like any player I hope he comes good for us and we either have a decent player on our hands for years to come or we sell for a big fee but so far there's just no justification at the moment for the constant 'Keane out, O'Brien in' shouts.

I don't think it helps having Keane as a learning mentor. If you look at Tarkowski, he's got the presence needed which I think has helped Jarrod's development. I might be wrong but he needs time and a better partner than can't bounce Keane
The lad clearly needs easing in but we haven't got great options and we are a bit desperate so everyone wants him to start, in our position it just sets us him up to fail. Best case scenario for him is we actually win a few games and he can be eased in. To be fair to Dyche who has got near enough everything else wrong this season, not launching him into the shitshow that is Evertons defence appears to be the right one.

I think what he offers is potential… and, therefore, hope.
He has room to develop and improve if we manage him properly. Keane is never going to be better than he is right now.

Reading between the lines of a throwaway comment on toffee TV, was signed for another manager that textor had lined up.
Wonder if that explains his lack of mins?
£15m commitment on a player the manager has no interest in entertaining. Fab work blues!
Expect similar with Chermiti. Never sounded like a player Dyche wanted, but probably one to cash in on for the books, down the track.

I think that's a sound idea though and one we've been demanding. Chermiti has already showed he's got something about him and looks like he might be someone we can move for profit down the line.
I was skeptical about him but those couple of performances last season turned me round on him. Even if he just ends up a decent squad player down the line it'll have been a fairly decent buy.

A proper coach would make a good player out of chermiti not dyche having him chasing long balls

Finished the season well. Can't believe he hasn't featured more this season. Same with the likes of Cannon, Dobbin and Simms. A proper coach would have them flying. Don't even get me started on the Scottish cafu

There’s a surprise you writing a young player off I was making the point this young man ain’t going to be able to play the target man long ball merchant dyche wants for his striker so unless there is a change of coach no point hoping for big things from this talented boy
