I think generally that's how teams like us lose to those teams? Not to say there's an alternative, but generally people turn up to the Etihad or anfield and turn over the ball and wait to get beat. It's seen as the sensible thing to do and works once every 100 games but generally those teams beat all the shit teams week on week out.

Our problem as I see it this year is the middle of the pack looks extraordinarily good. Fulham Brighton Newcastle Forest Bournemouth Villa Brentford...

Think we're bang in trouble as it stands.

No, but we can if we do it well like we did last season against the reds.

No. We always have. We can only hope we do again. I just don’t fancy us this season. Previously there has always been something to point at like xg or players to come back or good performances with no results.

This time I can’t point at anything I could pin my hope on. I would go for Broja being a revelation in January after all the shit games in December, only looking how DCL has no service, I don’t think it matters how good Broja is, you can’t score if you don’t have the ball.

Full on flap in 3… 2…

DCL does get chances though, and good ones at that, he’s just not that good at taking them, hopefully Broja is more accurate, maybe they can play as a pair. Can’t really remember what Broja’s style is.

I’m sure DCL has an impressive best bits video too, but looks like Broja on his day knows how to finish ….. https://youtu.be/vXx8HOMWPQY

We’re bouncing along at a point a game and it will be a struggle to get to 38 points if he’s not prepared to at least let them have some threat going forward.
The reality is we probably wont need 38 points to stay up. Newcastle went down with 37 points 9 years and that is the highest points to go down in the last 10 seasons. 35/36 points will probably see us safe. Palace in 18th are on course for a 25 point season right now.....however saying that

Dyches only job this season is to keep us in the premier league and get us safely to BMD and he is on course to do that.

If you look at the facts without emotion and style of football we are 10th in the form table over the last 6 games.

Picking up draws with an occasional win and we will easily stay up without getting dragged into a relegation scrap ike the previous seasons.

BTW I don't like Dyche's football and think we need to reset when we do get to BMD, but I also think a new manager is too much of a risk. Why risk opening up only to get some Lampard style hidings and then all of a sudden players have lost confidence and we start getting beat 3 and 4 nil in games.

Risk vs Reward is the name of the game IMHO. Minimise risk, maximise reward (aka staying in the premier league).

The new owners will know this because their business pan will be dependent on the club staying in the premier league. Dyche is going nowhere (for now)

I don't think my views differ greatly from yours. Maybe it is me flapping a bit but I am totally underwhelmed by how he has set us up and the lack of ambition. The constant aerial bombardment of DCL is regressive.
I think we have had a relatively easy start to the season and now face into a very testing set of fixtures.
In that context there is a real chance we will be in the bottom 3 come the turn of the year and we are not a bottom 3 side imo.
I have a huge amount of respect for Dyche. I think he has done a very good job dealing with the mess we were in with all the managerial failures and the points deductions. I think we will look back and think we had the right man at the right time. As I have stated on a number of occasions I would be happy for him to see out this season if we can get to safety and then move on from him next season. It has ran it's course. The risk is he can't get us to safety playing the way we have for the most part this season.

Really don't believe it. Can't imagine Chelsea and spurs pay managers less.

Regardless though compared to them that came before him dyche has more than earned his money. We paid ancelotti 220k a week after he was sacked by napoli. We paid benitez 200k a week after he finished bottom in China. We paid koeman 160k a week not to be arsed working. Dyches wages are way down the list of things we've wasted money on.

If Dyche has earned his money then Marco Silva (edited because), earning less money than Sean Dyche, must be the most underpaid man in the world.
