It's the one thing that Lampard needed credit for during his time here as he tried to get this fraud off a footballer out of the club, fair play for him seeing him for what he is, it's just a shame he didn't complete the job so we aren't having to watch these abject performances. I personally don't know what he 'is' but I'm 100% sure it isn't a footballer.

And yet, without his goal, we wouldn't be in the league.

It wasn't long ago that we couldn't win a game without him in the team, and Dyche had managed to find his niche. He's not the most technically-gifted player, so when his performances drop off - as they have, for a while now - he'll look even worse.

You could drop Doucoure and play Ndiaye or McNeil in the middle with Harrison/McNeil on the left and Lindstrom on the right.

Don't think Doucoure is our biggest issue at the moment by any means, but he's a bit of a passenger/liability at the moment. Use him as an impact sub for the time being, where I reckon he could still be useful.

People always say that, but it's not true, he was on the pitch so he had an opportunity to be the person that scored the goal, that doesn't mean if someone else was there we would've gone down, we could've been comfortable looking before that, nobody will ever know. He had his moment where he was relatively useful due to his goals, but he is one of the worst midfielders in the league imo in general play, and when he doesn't score he offers nothing, I'm fact, it's worse than nothing as everything promising we do he generally fucks it up by being offside

He scored goals as a midfielder.

Ridiculous to expect him to be a striker based off that.

Bit mad that he's ended up in the 2 in midfield. He's done a lot of good for us but I don't think, even with Allan during Ancelotti, that he's ever really played well for us there.

If he's not performing as the number 10 then he should be sitting on the bench, especially with other options available for that position.

Made a great run yesterday in the first half but Ndiaye didn’t see him should be playing in those kind of games but as part of a midfield 3 getting forward to arrive late in the box wasted and useless in a 2

He was a bit crap tonight but I do think we play much better with him in the 10. Pretty sure it was West Ham when he last played there and although that wasn't a great team performance the structure looked a million times better then too.

Just keep him in that position now imo. His decline has been quite a dramatic drop off but he still allows us to press a lot better and be a nuisance to the opposition when they have the ball at the back.

Might not be pretty but until Dyche leaves I think he just has to accept we can't win games whilst he's in charge without Doucoure playing there.

Agreed with him being more effective in that role, but his decision making and passing was still poor at times tonight.

His work rate in both directions was great though, and I think dom was better because of him honestly.

He’s finished but we’re still a better side with him in the team.

I don’t think we lose anything with ndyaie in that role, but for all the stats that say he wins the ball and does a lot of off the ball stuff well, duke just seems to constantly be in the right position when the ball breaks and it makes a massive difference.

He just kills us on the break. He did have the ability to drive with the ball and produce a bit of quality but I think he’s lost that now.

Started all three wins this season though. We still can’t win games without him.

He just has to play.

I know that he is crap deep down in my heart, but I also think he ticks the biggest boxes needed to win games in the prem :

Be big
Be strong
Be athletic
Win duels
Win headers
Keep running

When we find someone who can do that and not give the ball away every time he tries to pass it it will be a good day, but until then he just has to play.

We win a lot more loose balls in midfield and end up making it more of a scrap with him. Wolves couldn't get anything through the middle and he does a much better job of that than McNeil.

Better balance to the squad overall despite his limitations. He also likely will hit soke sort of goalscoring form at some point.

Hate watching him. But we're more likely to get a result with him in the 10, it's the reality of it.

If we want to press in any coherent way, like we did for the first time in a long time last night, he has to play. Hugely limited in many ways but he never stops running.

But that's only because of Dyche and his insistence that the number one quality of his number 10 is defensive workrate, rather than their ability to control the game, create and score goals.
We have much better number 10s imo that would give us a significantly greater chance of winning under any other manager
