Cods wrote: Sun Dec 29, 2024 1:05 pm During the last 4 years Everton have net spent (made): (£92m), just to break even, which is:

140m less spend than Southampton
(which was reduced by 110m of sales in three players: Lavia, Livramento and Ward-Prowse)

100m less spend than Brighton
(who'd recorded almost 300m of sales in Caciedo, Cucarella, MacAllister, Bissouma, Trossard and Sanchez alone)

315m less spend than Forest, (reduced by 45m of pure profit on the Brennan Johnson sale, and one of those seasons was spent in the championship)

360m less than West Ham

585m less than Man Utd

730m less than Chelsea

And we had very little quality to start with in 21/22, but it's been near gutted since. It's perhaps a wonder we're not bottom.
I did the same exercise the other day. Last 4 seasons we’ve made profit, but about 7 previous we make big losses. This is purely player trading, not club profit/loss.

Lead me to the conclusion that we had a massive period of huge overspending, followed by four years of frugality, with both periods underpinned by shit buys, extortionate contracts and terrible commercial management.

24/25 spent €50.2 sold €83.65 = €33.45M profit
23/24 spent €40.5 sold €82.8 = €42.3M profit
22/23 spent €83.1 sold €103.6 = €20.5M profit
21/22 spent €39.5 sold €46 = €6.5M profit
After that it gets grim though:
20/21 = €70M LOSS
19/20 = €33M LOSS
18/19 = €70M LOSS
17/18 = €71M LOSS
16/17 = €25M LOSS
15/16 = €37M LOSS
14/15 = €38M LOSS
13/14 = €14M PROFIT

Again- this is based purely on player trading. Data comes from transfermarkt.co.uk - maths is poster’s own.

Far too telling today.

It's not sustainable football.

Was happy to see how or if we had learned after the 3 draws.

It will be too tight keeping him on.

All on Dyche that we're absolutely pathetic at creating any patterns of play. Thinks he's a world beater when we get lucky draws against teams that no one expects us to create anything or get a result against. Even Moyes got lucky draws at the big teams but at least we actually had some attacking intent against the teams we should have been setting up to beat.

Praying Friedkin pull the trigger imminently!

You’d think so with a name like ‘Fried Kin’.

Zero sentiment.
