I don't think we can afford to send him on loan, if anyone gets suspended or banned we're down to the bare bones.

He probably does need a loan though, he hasn't played much but on the two or three times he has he's looked like Bambi on ice, it's a bad job when Michael Keane's having to hold your hand. He is like Patterson though, he probably was bought for the future and in both respects that's the kind of deals we should be doing but if we're doing those kind of deals then they should have been straight out on loan to the likes of the Championship or abroad and got some experience, as it is, we've spent £30m on two players and not really done anything develop them.

Best option might be a loan in January with an option to recall him if we are down in numbers.

Remember when I said it was a mad waste of doh to buy a 4th CB the manager despises when we had no money and everyone well actually'ed me?

Fingers crossed the next fella wants something to do with him.

Rumours are him and Patto both want out in Jan.

Not writing him off yet.

I remember working at Burnley when they beat Birmingham 4-0.

Dan Burn played for Birmingham that day and was so bad people in the crowd were laughing at him.

Now look at him.

Would rather he just played than got loaned out. I think he’s probably a good player who just needs a bit of time to get used to the step up.

Yeah same, he's a multi million pound asset, we can't keep just letting these assets go to waste.

Play young players and they will develop. Stick them on the bench and crowbar them in every now and again in unfamiliar positions and in poor situations, you ruin them.

Learn A lesson, please, Everton.

I remember how long it took Baines to move into the first team when we got him from Wigan?

Moyes even had to answer about it during press conferences, we need to give him time enough to get where we need him, we don't have the money to buy a fully ready product (Braithwait was out on loan for years before becoming a 1st team regular)

Only been 6 months and we're down near the bottom, let's not write it off just yet. Does seem a waste of money but we clearly thought Branthwaite would probably leave so actually for once did something smart and got relatively cheap cover just in case.

Hopefully under a different manager he'll flourish, we need to shift Branthwaite in the summer to help with the rebuild and Keane will be gone so he'll find himself one of the first choice defenders in 6 months time if he stays patient.

Oh I like the look of him! But ten games in when he hadn't had a sniff...sometimes you've got to smell the roses sadly.

No point signing players if the manager has no interest in playing them! Especially when you've no pot in which to spiss.

You bumped the thread with "red flag" but I don't think too many disagreed. I don't think he's looked good when he's played but it's been a very small window to see him, but we also need to factor in that Dyche is very rigid and doesn't change much from players he trusts so we can all call him crap but it's hard to judge either way.

I'm not going to go looking but I've had the argument on here that it was madness to waste that % of the budget on him and was told I was being daft, but it is what it it is, you're right I'm being childish.

I hope he can get some game time, he's big, he doesn't look slow, he's done well in a v physical league. At the moment it looks like a fiddle from Textor tbh, but fingers crossed.

Given Tarkowski's age, the Branthwaite bids, Godfrey's exit, and Michael bloody Keane's contract, was it really that strange a signing?
