It’s just impossible to know how we are trying to score goals from open play under Dyche. There are zero patterns of play that are repetitive. Most of this play doesn’t result in chances, but rather set pieces.

I actually think a back three could work for us.
Something like a 3-4-2-1 where the two attacking mids have freedom to move side-to-side to create overloads and passing triangles to work the ball into good crossing positions for DCL.
Patterson and McNeil for the wing back roles, Lindstrom and Ndiaye for the attacking mids. Probably Gana and Mangala in the middle. You can play around with the third CB (Mykolenko or O’Brien, I’d probably opt for the aerial threat).

Not getting gaslit into thinking 12th this or next season is some sort of unreasonable expectation.
Perfectly happy for 14th, even 15th, just out of trouble but not doing anything else.
Not happy with this though and I won’t be next season either.
Can’t believe just how far expectations have dropped amongst some of the fanbase. I don’t know how many games people need to see these players are capable of so much better.
At this point so much better is 14th.
A good manager with good recruitment can fly anyone up the league. Hopefully we see that.
I think we have a decent enough core to build from to not be in any trouble next season if we add all the other ingredients.
That’s all. Not in trouble, nobody is expecting europe of anything like that.
