Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Poor as he's been there's little chance we'll let him go this Jan when you consider the state of our squad.
Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Not sure what he's supposed to do tbh, usually we just punt it to his head and ask him to chase his own flick ons... and it wasn't even that good today, balls either sailed over his head or bounced so high they ended up going over him anyway.
There was a great bit in the second half where Young rifled one from 10 yards to him at knee height, how's he supposed to do anything in those situations?

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
I did have a fair bit of sympathy for DCL today, some of the balls played in for him were pathetic, and I'm not talking difficult balls either. The lack of quality in cm from Doucoure, Gueye and Mangala was terrible. Armstrong tried, and looked ok, but in general, the quality in cm isn't going to result in anything unless it's improved upon.
DCL wasn't isolated, and needed to do better at times, but the midfield is so far off it's embarrassed

One of theirs pulls a gun and you pull a potato peeler. Thats the Everton way!

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Was any comment made as to how bad the ankle injury is?
With rumours of Beto going too, I mean it could really put us in the hole in terms of strikers with Broja also injured (and unreliable really until proven otherwise).
Going to need to sign some players this window.

I honestly wouldn't be that surprised if Chermiti is the best of them at the minute anyway, even coming back from injury.blueToffee wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2025 6:21 pm Was any comment made as to how bad the ankle injury is?

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
DCL is probably thinking
Plan 1. Don't score don't get picked, didn't work.
Plan 2. Pretend ankle is injured and hopefully won' get picked. Probably will still play.

Bournemouth suffering a bit of a strikers crisis at the moment.
I think they could come in for Dom.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Thought they’d go for him in the summer before they got the Brazilian lad.
