I can assure you I have no illusions that you have any influence over anything whatsoever.

Re: Next Everton Manager
I think Southgate relegates us. I'd have Southgate in a category with martinez. Managers who'll destroy their next club. The only club daft enough to consider martinez since we sacked him was apparently usNomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:48 pm It would be the dullest outcome, and I don't think Southgate would move us forward much, but I disagree it would be anything like the trainwreck Mourinho's appointment would be IMO.

Re: Next Everton Manager
No one is arguing to keep Dyche, Brap.
I'm open to a lot of managers being banded about, but Mourinho isn't one of them. A worse fit for our club, you could not find (outside of former Liverpool managers).
Square peg and round hole situation.

Would you take Klopp (not that he’d ever come, though, the big fake socialist)NomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:53 pm No one is arguing to keep Dyche, Brap.

Could a former Liverpool manager ever work with Everton?sam of the south wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:58 pm Would you take Klopp (not that he’d ever come, though, the big fake socialist)
There are plenty of reasonable other options out there

Re: Next Everton Manager
I'd take anyone if they were going to be successful.
9th and cup final. I don't care if it's benitez, lampard, Southgate or dyche. The debate is about who can get us 9th and a cup final (or even a comfortable 15th) rather than would you accept someone if they were successful. We'd accept anyone if they were successful

If we are making a change now I can't see us going to the expense and taking the time required to try and get someone who is already in work.
If the big re-set in the summer is Jose it would not give me much optimisum for TFG.

Re: Next Everton Manager
Yeah, I wouldn't want Southgate either but I do find it a bit mad that people turn their nose up at him having taken England to major finals and semis but want the U21 manager who his little club experience, has been in coaching for years and not shown much ambition to get any further and put our PL survival in his hands.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 2:02 pm Think Lee carsley is a mad shout.
