Voted Frank because he is a lunatic and would entertain me.
If that "pitch invading" alleycat is a round 3 option, will get serious consideration.

Re: Next Everton Manager
Weren't his recent comments about not wanting a job fighting relegation sort of directed at us?
Re: Next Everton Manager
Bit like Ben Affleck saying he doesn't want a relationship with any more drama before getting back with J-Lo again though, isn't it?NomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 2:28 pm Weren't his recent comments about not wanting a job fighting relegation sort of directed at us?

Re: Next Everton Manager
I think he'd absolutely love to come back here. I don't know what type of job he thinks he can get. Assume he means more a Southampton type where there's little opportunity to avoid another relegation fight every year followingNomadskiEFC wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 2:28 pm Weren't his recent comments about not wanting a job fighting relegation sort of directed at us?
He isn't getting a job without a relegation battle in it unless he's moving to a different league
Re: Next Everton Manager
Nah doesn't even register on the crazy scale, literally just discussing the potential positives and negatives of a manager we're being linked with.
What was fucking mad was when people were genuinely advocating appointing Bielsa as under 21s manager whilst we were relegated, went in to administration and then probably relegated again leaving us in the footballing wilderness with an unfinished stadium and debt that probably saw us cease to exist as a club.
So maybe a bit of perspective on this one is needed. We're linked, people will discuss if there are any potential upsides whilst not advocating for the appointment.

Re: Next Everton Manager
Track record of allowing new managers time….is a funny statement given they literally just fired a guy they hired a few months ago. Not to mention binning Moyes off first time too after he saved them originally.Cereal Killer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:02 pm “Potter had received other offers since leaving Chelsea, but had chosen to join West Ham given the stable ownership and a track record of allowing managers time to build.
Potter also felt the club had a good squad compared to others in the lower end of the Premier League and the job felt like a good fit”
Read, Everton wanted to speak to me but fuck me they’ve got some shit players
However yes it’s a far easier job than us right now. If he makes a mess of it it will be all on him as the players are there kinda as they were for Emery at Villa (Emery has excelled there not taking that away from him but clearly Gerrard had them underperforming).
Re: Next Everton Manager
I don't see what Carsley has that Rohl or Carrick don't have, apart from the former player stuff.
Giving someone the Everton job when their way of playing is completely opposite to what we're being served up now in the middle of the season with the club in a relegation battle is a big risk in itself. To give that to somebody who has also never had a job in club management (and barely in senior management at all) is taking a gigantic risk.

Re: Next Everton Manager
I'd have thought a manager like Potter would have been interested in a summer rebuild with a club like us wanting to grow beyond recent seasons, unless we were giving him different vibes during our talks with him.
