Wouldn’t mind Carsley as I think he’d be a good coach / assistant. Other than him please no more “old boys network” - it’s something we need to be getting away from. Moyes himself is more than enough

I think Moyes really wants to still be in management and feels like he was harshly treated by West Ham. Whether he was or not is a little irrelevant, but I think he has the fire in his belly. He also came across as very confident and self assured.

However, he did nearly get fired by West Ham when we played them with Lampard in charge in that El Sackico game. And his football is also going to be quite dull.

But you would back Moyes to get the results. He has done it throughout his career at a higher level than Dyche has. In my view, this is an upgrade to what we had, purely due to his track record alone.

Willing to give the fella a chance, as much as it feels a step backward for me it probably does a little bit for him too so maybe we need to suck it up and see. At least we know he's capable of winning something, something he never looked capable of while he managed us

Because someone on Talksport said so and Troy Deeney agreed.

He had McKinlay both times he was at West Ham, he'll want to bring someone he's worked with in management.

I think Moyes clearly struggles to take a good team onto the next level to become very good (see Man U and the end of his West Ham tenure), but he does have a good record of making a weak team into a solid team (see his first spell here and both spells at West Ham, where he took over them in 18th and 17th).

If they give him 18 months, and he keeps us safe but doesn't pull up any trees, perfectly reasonable to let him go in the summer and get the longterm option you really want (hopefully).

He's much, much better than Dyche.

Yeah not you, would have quoted you if I'd been responding to you... Was aimed at the 2 previously who'd both said Rooney. Can't see why anyone would think it'd be him tbh.

When we first appointed him he was the youngest manager in the league.

Now we appoint him as the oldest manager in the league.

That kind of sums up how backwards we’ve been as a club for the last 20 years.

Rooney coming back as a washed up player well past his prime didn't exactly appease the fans, coming back as a four times failed manager isn't going to either.

Already got rid of of a coaching staff who were out on the ale too much.

Let’s not replace like for like with Rooney
