Would you rather they wait until the transfer window closes?

I'd still reiterate that 2 and a half years is too long. 18 months was all that was necessary and I don't really think Moyes had the leverage to push for further than that. Now it's happened then got to just accept it and hope for the best.

I absolutely think Moyes is a better manager than Benitez, Lampard and Dyche... So in comparison to those three then I'm content with the appointment. I do think we'll be okay under him and any frustrations will come much further down the line when we're hopefully in a better place.

Moyes left us in a good place 12 years ago and if he can sort us out in a similar way for when he leaves this time then it will have been a good appointment. I don't see Moyes as a man to bring us success but I do think he can lay down the foundation for success and realistically that's where we are as a club. Fully behind him.

Twice, don't exaggerate. Although it does fascinate me when a poster tries to hide behind a new username, most of the sensible ones stick the name we all know. It's no biggy though.
I wasn't on here for a bit, largely because I didn't enjoy it, and felt there was a bit of friction between me and other posters, so it was a chance to start a fresh without and pre conceived ideas.
I'm hoping you'll be able to share your little lookup with everyone though in terms of any name changes etc or other details you store?

OK what i think of David Moyes return doesn`t really matter .......but when he became manager before. he imho restored pride back to Everton FC and made us a force (as i said before `not a farce`) ok maybe not a major force but we were up there .
So i hope it works this time even 50% of what he did last time would for me be a kick start and who knows were it can go from there

The really crazy part is that after all these years and after all these managers we've had, when he walks in the dressing room today, there will still be a player there he had signed.

And it was him who called us The People's Club.

Still remember him putting on subs in injury time with instructions to change the game, a dull man, with dull tactics

Moyes was great when he came in first and ran the club really well and kept expectations low too so when we did well it was super he never won anything though and our record against the big sides was brutal he will have some money to spend this time so let’s see I’m very sceptical

Hands up …I shouted for moyes to step in sort this out firstly when we outed the waiter then again after the bad run we’ve been on….
BUT the shout was for until the end of this season….then look afresh…didn’t expect a 2year contract but what the hey…in moyes place Ida done the same…..we don’t know the actual terms of the contract so it’s not to say if things aren’t going well and he’s not hitting targets they will out him anyway……

I’m just mildly content.

The chance to sack him for a more progressive manager has passed, unfortunately.

You have to take the rough with the smooth with those managers and we can’t afford to take that risk now.

I wish we made this choice after sacking silva. I think the course of the club would have changed massively and we’d be in a much better position now because of it.

Hard to say how this is going to turn out. I have my fears, but there’s no reason why he can’t keep us up and stabilise us in midtable if he see’s his contract out.

To be honest, I wasn't the first to notice and I think even yesterday someone else called you Waltzer. The thing is we can all change our usernames as much as we want but we all have our own posting styles and some have our own fixed opinions on certain things so it soon becomes obvious. Many people guessed who you were without my help, just like they've guessed who other posters are with new usernames, the fact you denied it at first just made more obvious. As I said, it's no big issue though.

I have to be honest some of the negative reaction has got me a bit spooked.

His west ham squad was much better. If we could get him a cut price Rice, Bowen and 2x full backs I would expect him to be able to play 4231, without (most of) that I think he will be stuck in 451, and even that's only if he can keep Dom and get him playing.

Think I'm just having a bit of a wobble but I am worried.

Plenty think this squad is better than they showed under Dyche, Moyes should be capable of bringing that out. I’m hoping he can do what he’s done in the past and unearth a couple of gems this January

I don't think it would matter who we appointed, deep down we're all worried. This season feels different, even with our long winless run last season and the points deduction it just feels a little different and there isn't the same fight. Maybe there's a few players coming to the end of their contracts so they don't have the same hunger to stay up but hopefully Moyes can instill some fight in them.
