I agree that unlike last year any threat of punishment this year must be met with the strongest rebuttal. We now have Ballsy American owners with more than enough money to hire the finest set of Barristers to argue that until the City case has been decided we can not possibly know if they are in the relegation zone or not (if say they got a 20 point deduction only they would be in the bottom 3) this would affect the other clubs in the relegation zone.74Blue wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 8:13 am Them winning their case against the PL last season was pretty embarrassing for the PL powers that be and I'm sure that their accounts will be scrutinised by the PL who will be looking for any opportunity to save a bit of face.
Any threat of punishment this season should be met with the strongest rebuttal that the investigation into Man City's alleged wrongdoings over multiple years is still yet to be concluded. The findings are still not yet in the public domain and perhaps they should concentrate on completing historical cases before handing out new sanctions. How long has it been now with City?
It fucking grates on me that we got punished TWICE last season, whilst Chelsea were allowed to sell assets to themselves and get away with it, Man Utd were afforded massive leeway with their "losses" and City can just carry on kicking the can down the road.

Wish people would stop bringing up the City case. It's just not comparable.
Theirs is relating to the fair market value of deals that allowed them to comply with p&s rules.
Ours has been about being dickheads enough to actually breach them thinking everything will be ok.

Yeah, they’re just an expensive Everton them.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
They'll never be punished. Untouchable.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Chelsea should be in the firing line but I imagine when they sold their women's team that was the end of that for now.
We technically are in breach due to the stadium loan accounting, but that case has been completely silent and nobody has any idea what's next.
I guess we find out today?
Leicester might be in breach. Wolves maybe in the mix but haven't spent in ages.

One thing that's giving me confidence we won't be hit with any deduction is that I'm not convinced Moyes would have taken on the job had there been any possibility of us being in breach.
He'd have nothing to gain coming in with us in the relegation zone and having had a confidence destroying points deduction to deal with.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.
Not sure I'm having that nobody is in breach but hey ho.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Surprised nothing was said about the blatant PSR dealings between various clubs.
Let's crack on now.
Let's crack on now.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
This is it quietly going away isn't it? They've set their example with ourselves and Forest. Leicester embarrassed them over the terminology used in the regulations and now Chelsea/Man United are showing it up for what it is then they're going to phase it out and pretend it didn't happen. I don't care about Man City for reasons I've explained before but they won't be punished for their wrongdoings either.
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Lmao that's that brushed under the rug then
Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - 2025 Nobody in Breach
Guarantee both Forest and United would have been 2 of the clubs under extreme scrutiny.
This will signal the end of PSR if teams can just bend the rules like this.
Be glad when it's gone, was a farce to begin with.
