Entirely up to Dyche really at this point and Dele if he's motivated to play.

If he can play still...maybe there is a deal to be made in the summer. Otherwise, best of luck to him.

We've seen Ross Barkley's resurgence at Luton, I suppose it could happen for Dele too?
Don't you dare take his name in vain

If he has the hunger then Dyche will get the fitness right and the demands of what's expected to be in the team.

Just wonder how much hunger he'd have knowing we'd be cutting him loose at the end of the season no matter what he does 🤷

If he wants to get another £100k a week salary somewhere I’m sure he’ll put a shift in, if he’s no longer motivated by money he’ll probably just fade away.

Don't know if it's that simple tbh, given his mental health battles and addiction I'd be surprised if money was much of a motivating factor.

Considering he seems to be in Dubai every other week I reckon its probably still a consideration

He’s been spending the last couple of months recovering from injury and what seems to be quite severe mental trauma.

Don’t get why you need to post like this when we’ve all watched his interview?

Money will always be a consideration, that's life... I don't believe for a second though that it'd be a driving force behind him finding hunger for the game again though.

He could easily go to Saudi or the US and earn money to play even if he doesn't feature for us again.

I'm talking about finding a love for the game again, money isn't something that would create that for someone whose been through what he has.

Listen you will never see me saying things like he's lazy or he's not arsed or anything like that because I don't believe it. He's a professional athlete and at one point was one of the best on the planet, that takes an incredible amount of will and determination and drive and effort, but you will also never see me say things like oh the money isn't a factor for him any more... It's made up! It's a fantasy! And it's also, tbh, part of the weird infantalising that happens with dele because of his (brilliant, brave) interview. He's treated like a charity case, and I don't think it's right and I don't think it's helpful.

He lives and has lived for decades, the life of an extremely wealthy professional footballer (as is his right). Their job is to get as much money as possible in the short time they are active, which to him I'm sure feels even shorter and quickly closing...on what PLANET are we saying that money is unlikely to be a factor for him?

And it should be, it's fine that it is. It's not fine to make up that it isn't because he's a special little guy we treat in a special little way.

You know what, it's not that deep. I don't like how people baby him (in my perception), but it doesn't matter it's just people wanting the best outcome for him and us for the right reasons. Ignore two previous posts.

If the recent news on the Spurs negotiations are true then I don't see how this is going to work out particularly well. It sounds as though we were hoping for a bit of humanity from Daniel Levy but then he came back with £8m for 15 appearances instead of £10m for 20 appearances which is unsurprising but basically screws all three parties. There is (hopefully) no chance we're going to play him another 7 times and take the £10m hit for him to just potentially leave once his contract expires, especially considering he's not likely to pull up many trees in those appearances.

It's frustrating but best case scenario from this point is that he spends the next 3 months playing U23 football and we bring him back into the first team squad for the last couple of months. If he plays well and has the mindset of wanting to get his career on track then maybe he signs on a free transfer for a much reduced salary. Obviously he could go absolutely anywhere at that point though and I'm sure some daft club (saying this as an Everton fan...) will pay him a lot more money to join them.

I don't think we can sign him on a free when his contract expires, pretty sure there's some clause that means we pay x amount if that happens.
