We aren't likely going to be pulling away, it'll likely go to the end few games. Mid-30s is probably best we can do and we have to hope that's enough.Cozzie wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2025 5:03 pm Haven't looked at the table in a long while as when we are shite I tend to avoid it as it's depressing enough.
Didn't realise there is quite a gap between us and United now who have Southampton tonight.
Looks like 16th at best even with a good run.
Still think it shouldn't take an awful lot for us to pull away though.
A few signings and formation tweaks that I believe Moyes will do and some favorable fixtures to come should see us start to pull away.
Ipswich are a difficult one, could go either way but I feel they are this seasons Luton.
They will get more than 26 points like but don't believe that football is sustainable enough for the rest of the season.
Don't think 40 will be needed once again so we should be OK.
Ipswich and Wolves are in a way glass cannons. They can score a bunch but they'll often leak goals. The opposite of us really.
The problem is one win is worth 3 grindy draws for us so it doesn't take much them to catch up or potentially overtake if they do get an occasional win.
If we can add some actual firepower to the team that puts us on a much, much more stable footing as we'd then have more of a chance to win games as well as having an ok enough defence.
Biggest positive for me is I do think we have people at the club who can identify a good player, so IF we can spend something we can improve from where we are now. If it was down to just keeping the same squad, no new significant additions, it'd be almost a coin flip for me whether we got relegated or not.
