Re: Patterson Future
Looked fired up today.
A nice bit of play to put in Doucouré down the line, and then an excellent challenge to win the ball back resulting in DCL gaining a free-kick at the end.

Re: Patterson Future
Going forwards he is an absolute baller. Defensively, he does look suspect, but he also needs minutes and games. Wouldn't surprise me if he went out on loan this transfer window.sam of the south wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 9:56 pm Looked fired up today.

Re: Patterson Future
I’d be very surprised if he went on loan, i think we’ll see a new right hand side develop over the remainder of the season with JOB Patto and Lindstrøm, hope so anyway.
Re: Patterson Future
Yeah thought he looked really bright, can obviously see an opportunity to impress.
Re: Patterson Future
He'll be bedded in in parts this season, at least with clear instruction.
Feel he will be our starting RB next season.
Moyes hinting that a lot of CB's begin their career at FB.
He's doing that with JOB now, like he did with Lescott before slotting him into CB next season and lashing Patto in at RB.
He's on this.

Re: Patterson Future
Seems to me that it will be a Linstrom OR Patterson in the RWB situation, can't see one playing in front of the other tbh.Bluebridge wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2025 10:31 pm I’d be very surprised if he went on loan, i think we’ll see a new right hand side develop over the remainder of the season with JOB Patto and Lindstrøm, hope so anyway.
Lindstrom did seem to tire quite heavily as that RWB role requires a lot of work - hopefully Moyes moves away from the Lindstrom>Young change and more into Lindstrom>Patterson

Re: Patterson Future
I mean with Lindstrøm on the right of Ndaiye behind DCL or whoever, JOB right of a back three and Patto RWB.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2025 3:03 pm Seems to me that it will be a Linstrom OR Patterson in the RWB situation, can't see one playing in front of the other tbh.

Re: Patterson Future
With O’Brien pretty much a guaranteed starter at RB it does make me wonder what we do with Patterson.
Even if O’Brien is injured or has to move to CB because of an injury somewhere I wouldn’t be surprised if Moyes picked Young or Coleman ahead at right-back.
I would be fine with him moving to another club where he would be guaranteed more playing time even if it is on loan. This is more the Scotland fan in me rather than the Everton fan as I’d like to see him somewhere where his talent can develop further which then benefits the national team.

I would agree. I rate Patterson. I think he’s a player. He’s not there yet but I back him to get there.toffee_scot wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 5:46 pm With O’Brien pretty much a guaranteed starter at RB it does make me wonder what we do with Patterson.

From an Everton standpoint though, if he is on loan, who do we have at right back. Coleman and the young fella Dixon. And Coleman isn’t fit yet. It’s not loads of cover tbh.

Re: Patterson Future
I think it’s likely we sign a starting right back in the summer, then O’Brien is backup and Patterson is either sold or goes out on loanToddacelli wrote:

Re: Patterson Future
Think we've probably missed the boat with Patterson. Feels like he's lost about 3 years where he should have been out on loan getting games.
Loan him to a good championship team and hope they get promoted and we can recoup some of the money

Re: Patterson Future
Yea, get him on loan and cross our fingers he shows enough for someone to pay for him in the summer for 2026.
Get in a proper RB who can contribute right away. Obrien can be moved to CB at times next season and play backup to a new RB.

Yeah I think the club have been poor here although it hasn’t helped that he’s had a few lengthy injuries.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:19 pm Think we've probably missed the boat with Patterson. Feels like he's lost about 3 years where he should have been out on loan getting games.

He probably should have gone out on loan when we first bought him considering Lampard only played him for half a game against a Conference team in the FA Cup.
Ideally he should have gone out on loan on January transfer deadline day to a championship club when it was becoming clear by then that O’Brien was functioning well as a right back.

Re: Patterson Future
Absolutely. Was crying out for game time since he came to us with only 13 appearances in senior men’s football.777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:19 pm Think we've probably missed the boat with Patterson. Feels like he's lost about 3 years where he should have been out on loan getting games.

Should have been a starter, but we didn’t have the patience so should have been loaned. Maybe he’ll have a long career due to lack of games at this stage but I don’t know what else we have done for him.
