Im at a bit of a loss as to what we need tbh

Weve got 3 RBs, plus JOB, between the 4 of them I reckon we are OK there for now, Id wait til summer to sort that
At LB we have no cover and Myko hasnt had his best year, albeit hes starting to look more like the version we had last season the last few games
We are OK in centre mid, and have players returning
Nobody is shifting Ndiaye off the left, and we have Mcneill coming back as someone who can play there as well.
On the right, Harrison should be gone, and Id like to see Lindstrom get a proper run, but sure theres an argument for reinforcement here
Up front, I just cant see who we are bringing in that is definitely going to be better than what we have, emphasis on definitely, given our financial position
The one area I could be convinced of is the number 10, but even then maybe thats solved by moving Ndiaye inside

On balance, Im all over the place on it, but even though we obvs need upgrades almost everywhere, could probably be convinced its better to go with what we have and build in the summer

the loans situation, domestically, contributes to that sense of maybe it is better to sit on our hands

Definitely could do with an overlapping left back who can cross (Chillwell).

Lindstrom should be replacing Doucoure which leaves right wing / right wing back where we potentially could play Patterson. I think the way we set up against Spurs would be ideal for Patterson as it gives him protection defensively in a way a back 4 wouldn't.

That really just leaves us requiring someone with pace, so I'd be looking for a right sided attacker. Young with potential that is happy to come off the bench with 20 mins remaining to give us more threat if losing or an out ball if defending a lead.

Really it's left back and an attacker with pace that we desperately need.

I think we’re fine up to the end of the season.

Important to get the right players in and not just players for the sake of it.

Would help to get one or two permanent transfers in like.

actually thats a fair point, could bring Lindstrom into 10 and then get a RW, or a player that can cover both that and 10 so we can interchange the two if that doesnt work

So Id probably agree on a LB and a RW, but we cant get Chilwell unless we buy him or chelsea take back Broja in exchange, and I wouldnt buy Chilwell

No definitely wouldn't buy him, would very much be only if we can get rid of Broja and replace that loan with Chillwell.

We shouldn't lose sight of the fact the manager was on the verge of tears after his first game talking about how shite our options are.

We are weaker than we were a few weeks ago with chermiti out it looks for the foreseeable and Broja now out for the same.

We need to improve and we need bodies. Yes the new voice tactics and optimism will do wonders but the big picture is we need support up at that end of the pitch asap.

We need to also make note of the fact moyes is obviously going to use players within the squad exiled under dyche so that will mean we only need probably 1-2 players max in the window one permanent and a loan for me a creative midfielder and a lb

Obligatory youtube video.

Hadn't actually heard of him until now.

Looks decent but whether that translates into the Premier league.

Reportedly available for as little as £5.9M, doesn't seem like a bad deal.
hes barely played this season though, presumably theres a reason, albeit maybe hes been unfairly frozen out

I think the good thing about Moyes pulling no punches about the players being shit and also not playing to thier abilities is a great motivator to get more out of them in the short term too... They all know they're playing for their places and future, and they know they've only got a really short period to impress or Moyes will bring someone in to replace them.

If I'm Lindstrom or Mykolenko for example I know I've got a very limited opportunity to show I should be playing, and I'd say both have so far shown an upturn in their performances. Hopefully this means the performance against Brighton is equally as positive even if the tactics probably will be a little more pragmatic.

Unless you’re buying for the future then I don’t see why we need a LB.

Mykolenko is solid lower PL standard with Young a viable backup incase of injury.

If the five at the back is a permanent shift then I think you’ve already got McNeil and Harrison who have the engine and workrate to be LWBs - I’d go with any of them before buying someone like Chilwell who we’ll regret in the summer.

A fast player who can play both RW and AM is the ideal buy, throw whatever funds we have on that.

ST doesn’t need touching unless we sell Beto or DCL.

Personally I’d like to loan an experienced RB if he thinks Patterson isn’t ready as Young, Coleman and JOB all make me worry for different reasons

I don't think a single person has advocated buying Chillwell tbh, only a loan till the end of the season.
