There's every chance he bags against Leicester, in fact I almost wouldn't be surprised if he got a couple... any game where we can dominate possession or at least have a fair share and the opposition's defence is weak he's got opportunities to rip the net off with a powerful finish after bullying a defender.

Saying that this is the only game he should be starting and we desperately need a replacement before the following game, because it's pointless having a striker that can only be potentially effective in one or two specific games a season.

Against Brighton he either wasn't contesting balls or a couple he did contest and win he headed back to the halfway line and to one of their players 🤦‍♂️

If we think we'll need to rely on him for any length of time it's going to be a case of looking over our shoulder for their rest of the season instead of looking at who we could potentially overtake ahead of us.

His inability to single handedly hold off two defenders for an out ball wouldn’t be so much of an issue if we didn’t have Doucouré playing off him.

If he’s who we’re running as a striker then we desperately need our most advanced midfielders to be able to wriggle out of tight spaces and maintain possession so we can play it on the ground to get up the pitch

Sending off all over him, clumsy challenges; mixed in with a few goals, though

Doucourè was absolutely vital off the ball against Brighton, he puts out fires before they become a flame but on the ball, I think he’s the worst player technically in the prem right now. Therefore, against Leicester, maybe we can afford to put Lindstrom there and Patterson RWB, to give Beto a go at doing what he can do.

Like most of the other players in the squad who we've only seen play under Dyche, I'm willing to give Beto a bit of a clean slate.

The runs in behind that DCL was making against Spurs to get 1 on 1 are definitely the sort of thing Beto can do and is more likely to result in a goal. Hold-up isn't near Dom's level, though you'd imagine Moyes is savvy enough to take that into account when setting up a team.

Dyche-ball was always going to be tough for someone with Beto's attributes but away from that I think it's worth backing the fella who scored 21 goals in 61 league matches for a Udinese side 12th over the course of both seasons he was there.

Feel like he's treated as though he's the level of Niasse sometimes. He's done it in a top 5 (arguably top 3) league.

Seen a few fresh reports this morning that he wants off, Moyes doesn't want him, and that we're back in negotiations with Torino about him heading off before the end of the window. Looks like the source is Tuttosport in Italy.

Would totally make sense if DCL wasn't injured, but if he went then we'd surely need to bring 2 forwards in?

I think Beto would be fine. Might take a few games to get up to speed.
But i wouldn't be rushing out to sign a forward, it would hurt us further long term.

Let's see what Moyes can do with him before binning him. We have no other fit strikers

I also think giving him 5-6 starts in a row might be what he needs.

Wouldnt take too many going in off his shin to drastically reduce the loss we are looking at eating for him.

Don't really have a choice do we?

Broja is done, DCL out at least a few weeks and likely much more, Chermiti seems a long ways away.

I think he'll have his moments/matches but a lot of frustration when the ball doesn't stick. Just not sure we will get anyone else in at this stage.

He can score goals but his all round play is average at best. He'll give it all though he seems that sort of lad. A last minute back up/alternative is needed really, whether we get one or not is another matter.

Niasse got 8 goals in 22 games for us that one season. Beto hasn't hit 8 goals in all competitions in two years has he?
