The club appears to be a much happier place since the change, certainly the players, just seem to have the regular doom and gloom culprits who constantly talk it down.

Define interest though. Could have just been does he want to come here for 6 months to get some mins and cover a gap for us.

Anyhow, if it's not happening then no need to particularly give it much thought.

Can't imagine Plan B to Sean Longstaff is going to be much cop.

Just be brave for once.

If we can’t get a good midfield target then give Armstrong the minutes.

At the moment we have Gana and garner as our starting two, with PSR Tim, Doucoure and Armstrong as back ups.

It’s not very good but the last thing we need is to add another average player to the mix.

Armstrong is miles off though and definitely not what you want in a relegation fight... If we win tomorrow and Ipswich don't it's maybe less of an issue, but if things don't go out way we'd be one injury away from a midfield of:

Gana----------Doucoure
--------Armstrong

That's with Beto up top too... At some point you have to weigh up relegation Vs buying someone who can improve us now and would be useful next season too.

I know for one I wouldn't want us going in to this part of the season 4 ahead of Ipswich with that midfield and striker combo.

Without retreading old ground, I don't think it's fair to assume Armstrong is miles off based on the last 12 months of performances.

The thing is, chucking him in would improve the lad in terms of experience. But you want to manage these things because you can get bad experiences that can affect your development negatively too. Also, playing him more now might improve his overall level, but as we don’t yet know where that ceiling is, it might be loads or it might be imperceptible.

In an ideal world, you bring the likes of Harrison Armstrong on with 10-15 minutes to go when you're a couple of goals up and coasting. You definitely don't want to be pinning your hopes on him being amazing every week. He's 17 and still just potential right now. Yes, he played well in the FA Cup game but that was against vastly inferior opposition.

I see guys on other sites saying tim is the man to replace mangala based on a few ropey enough performances earlier in the season we can’t be playing him and hoping he massively improves

Think Tim is destined to play further forward with his inability to look behind him at all ever.

Don't think Mangala has been anything spectacular personally. Nice enough, still gets stuck in, happy to take a shot on. Wouldn't want to buy that for £30m tho.

sure we will end up with some LOAN deals only in this window given our current financial situation

If Moyes let's Armstrong know he's giving him his chance to set his place in the team. If it doesn't work, at worst we're back here. He'll deal with it.
