People saying he doesn’t offer much beyond our current options are probably right. It might just be that we want another solid 6.5/10 DM for the squad right now with so much potential turnover in that area in the summer. Then we take a shot on a bigger talent this summer when we have more money to spend (theoretically).
Yeah in the summer we will have one senior midfielder, and that's Garner. We hopefully will renew Gana but even then it's just two senior players in there.

We also won't have a war chest to spend, so will need some low cost sensible signings.

We need:

RB
LB
DM
AM
RW
ST

Probably all as starting players... Even if we spent £15m on each that comes out as £90m which is completely infeasible.

Plus we'll need about 3 minimum squad players on top of that.

Low cost sensible signings, a few raw but potentially quality young players we aren't relying on but can give minutes to and a few loans. That'll be our summer because we aren't getting £80m for Branthwaite as hoped due to him not performing that great this season, so deals will be low cost and not sexy.

I think some are probably in for a rude awakening in the summer... Or I'm wrong and we buy loads of awesome players, which I'd be delighted about even if I think that's not going to happen.

Totally relaxed.

I think we get one or two in and stay up quite comfortably.

If we don’t get anyone in them I’m fine with it. For me, most important thing is to get the right players, and not just players in for the sake of adding bodies.

Bullshit.

He will go for 70m + regardless of the few games he has played this season.

22, massive potential, English... he will go for a big sum.

I agree, he doesn't do enough to improve us beyond what we have with the combination of tim, garner and armstrong in a pinch or as a sub later in the game.

Wasting limited budget on someone we'll see as another burden in the summer isn't the way we should be going.

Hope so as it'd be pretty transformative when it comes to our ability to spend. I guess we'll know come the summer where we're at with spending both with or without his sale.

I'm hoping we're still trying to work out things with Chelsea with a loan swap for Broja.

We'll spend >£100m in the summer guaranteed.

Start of a new investment cycle. Will be £100m minimum.

Sean longstaff wont improve us in an already poor area of the squad.

Unless these players can improve us then leave until the summer.
I think this is doable. Not because we’re any good, because we really aren’t, but because there’s definitely at least three teams worse than us this year. Even starting the kid in midfield.

I love the optimism but would also like to know where you've got this from... Is it real, I want it to be real.

What Moyes said isn't new really, we knew this window we would still be hamstrung by PSR and its not gonna ease until the summer.

His comments shouldn't come as a surprise.

Still think we will do some sort of business before the window shuts.

Regardless if we have to go with what we've got, despite not being that exciting it will be more than enough for us to stay up.

Thanks for the second post. I had no idea who Wilford was and thought we had signed someone new.

Moyes spent half a billion at West Ham. He’ll need to do the same here to be competitive.

We’ll need multiple £100m summers.

I dont understand why you keep saying we have no money? or we will be spending the bare minimum?

Weve got owners who have money and want to invest. And we are completely clear of any debts/issues. So why wouldnt we be spending?
