We seemed to have a fair few do this on Saturday, and I don't recall a single Bournemouth player struggling. Was odd.
Carlos Alcaraz

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
In fairness he's had what, one, two training sessions with the team? And just flown in from Brazil. It's to be expected. He still managed to look like one of our best players.

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
90 minutes? Not good enough, the shite were given +9 extra minutes last weekend. This lad better be good for 110 minutes at least.
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
What on earth have I said that's so wrong here?
Can't stress enough, I'm not writing him off even remotely, I'm saying he didn't look great from the half an hour I saw.

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
I think it just feels a little pointless?
'looked crap'
Did he really? isnt that a bit of a hyperbole?
I also think, he is an exciting prospect for us to get behind, its been EXHAUSTING with Dyche etc so maybe people cba always being negative and stuff.
Thats just me like.

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
Nothing, it's fine to talk about the stuff he did badly along side the stuff he did well, and doesn't mean you're writing him off....even if some are suggesting that.
He had a few heavy touches, looked a bit clumsy a few times and his slip almost cost us another goal, and all of that is ok because he also did lots of positive stuff and he's new to the team, and still a very young player so he gets some grace.
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
I don't personally feel the need to live in a fantasy and ignore opinions if I don't like them. I thought he looked crap. What the hell am I gunna say?Audrey Horne wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 1:57 pm I think it just feels a little pointless?

Sorry it's irritating like, it's not my set opinion for the rest of his career and it's not me saying it's a bad buy it's just...what I felt about the short highlight video I watched of him trying to dribble and losing the ball in bad positions.

Re: Carlos Alcaraz
I mean, you're entitled to your opinion, of course. But it's a pretty harsh conclusion to draw and one that not many of us would share.
He's a creative player, so some of the risks he takes might not come off. Added to the fact that he's been dropped into a post-Dyche team - a land starved of creativity - and that he was brought on to orchestrate a comeback against a strong side, and it feels a bit unfair to label his performance crap. Especially when there weren't really any glaring clangers.
I took encouragement from it, if anything, and think he showed plenty of promise.
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
Half the stuff Brapster said didn't even happen in that 2 minute clip that was posted tbf. There was one overhit pass in there. Unless he was watching it on repeat for 15 minutes and didn't notice?
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
Reckon he’s our free kick taker from now on, but for 6 inches of wood that would have been the dream debut,Charlie Adam working his magic already
Re: Carlos Alcaraz
One thing I will try and avoid is jumping in the thread whenever he misplaces a pass, he gets a complete blank slate and all the best will in the world.
