Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I've always wanted them to make versions where you can pay a bit more to not have the sponsor on whatever it is. The sponsors no matter who they are often look a bit crap.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
We pissed on them for the most part at Goodison but then they grew stronger. BMD is a clean slate, but they are the ones currently in the ascendancy. We absofuckinglutely have to play like this against them at BMD.

I think it’s been a bit of a mess regarding transport, parking and the general area around the ground.
It’s a complete dump round there. I walked up from work on Monday for the first time in ages and was shocked at how bad it was.
At the very least surely the council can tidy it up a bit.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
The new parking zones around BMD are typical LCC to be honest. It will destroy local businesses there as the council seek to make a quick buck out of it. There is absolutely no need to have parking enforcement in place 365 days a year. The restrictions are only required around events being held at the stadium.Gash wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 11:04 am Petition started against the parking zones at BMD.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Just been trying to think of all the teams who've moved stadium over the years and wondering how many of the new stadiums have been a success in terms of atmosphere and feel compared to the original stadium?
Is there one that stand out where people say it's as good if not better since the move?
Very excited about BMD and it seems a lot of what made new stadiums souless has been taken in to consideration, but also part of me wonders if any team has built a new stadium and it not been atmospherically a let down even if commercially a success?

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Traditionally, new stadiums have been made with the bottom line in mind.
The replacement of Roker Park, the Dell, The Boleyn and Maine Road, as examples, we're done for different reasons (arguably West Ham and City were the same reason: an external opportunity was made available). But the design of replacement stadium has normally been a cost v capacity v likely occupancy calculation.
There was never a laboured point about atmosphere when building the replacement like BMD.
Arsenal did talk about it, to be fair and tried. But ultimately still just went for "as big as we can get away with"

More effective than signing the petition is to reply to the consultation - it takes literally 5 seconds and 6 clicks to respond saying you don't agree, and you don't need to write anything.Gash wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 11:04 am Petition started against the parking zones at BMD.

The petition will be seen as noise (and hopefully listened to), but the hard metrics of the consultation are what they have to report on internally.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I think Spurs have done it well, right? West Ham seems to have been a disaster.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:52 pm Just been trying to think of all the teams who've moved stadium over the years and wondering how many of the new stadiums have been a success in terms of atmosphere and feel compared to the original stadium?

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I've been thinking with regards to naming rights and our owners wanting to go down the American route of selling every available advertising space.
Do you reckon we might sell the naming rights to each stand?
It is strange they haven't been named now.

I would say Arsenal did it right. Sunderland and Bolton grounds are nice for the size of clubs. Spurs was expensive it was needed as much as ours is.AjaxAndy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:52 pm Just been trying to think of all the teams who've moved stadium over the years and wondering how many of the new stadiums have been a success in terms of atmosphere and feel compared to the original stadium?

Some of the cheaper ones like Derby, Southampton and Leicester are soulless bowls, but you would argue the economics of it stacked up.
BMD won’t replace or upgrade Goodison. It’s not possible to do that, as its got 130 years of history in its bones. It’s lived through world wars, every World Cup, every Euros, seen countless title winning sides and many generations of fans sit in its seats.
BMD will be there to enhance our future on the history that Goodison has built.

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
I hope they really push this when they are selling naming rights. The new stadium should garner a real reputation for noise and have everyone talking about it next season - that’s got to be worth an extra bundle or two.superpull wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 2:21 pm Traditionally, new stadiums have been made with the bottom line in mind.

There’s companies out there who specialise in removing sponsors. Really erupted in popularity with the retro shirt market. Just a thought, if you do get one.Audrey Horne wrote:They shouldnt have put that god awful Stake shite on it though.
Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock
Agreed. More Castore shite. They’re a “legacy partner” of Bramley Moore which makes me worried that we’re lumped with them for a good few years to comebrap[emoji638] wrote:They are extraordinarily ugly.
