Apparently yesterday was our first league win without himsince January 2022 (!).

Regardless of how people see him, he's still an important part of the squad. Would like to see him re-signed for another couple years even if his role diminishes.

I wouldn't give him another contract

He's still only scored what, 1 goal this season? Can't imagine his assists are very high either. Elite presser without doubt and loves the blues but poor technical ability to say the least and not great decision making. Not to mention will be on maybe the biggest wages at the club? Top 3 anyway.

Part of the not winning without him comes down to having Benitez, Lampard and Dyche as our last 3 permanent managers.

Fresh start in the summer feels like the right time for us to part ways.

Much lower wages and another year most probably, unless there is a good value replacement available that fits with the club vision and we can juggle the finances with all the other positions we need to fill.

I love him and always has but he needs to leave this season and with good memories of his time here. He literally loses this ball nearly every time he gets it. Missed his pressing against Palace and rode our luck at times but surely the solution is a presser with some technical ability in the summer.

It’s a no from me.

It’s the right time to leave but if he’s happy to accept a lesser wage and role then I wouldn’t be arsed.

Either way, hope we know before the end of the season so he can get his flowers from the fans.

Same with Gana. We’d be gone without those two.

They love the blues.

Been sound it's a big ask to replace him, Ideal would be phasing him out next season . If he goes this season though I get the reasoning

Like anyone else, it depends on the replacements coming in I suppose. If a lower wage was agreed then I wouldn't be opposed to him being here another year.

The ball Alcaraz played to Beto shows what we are missing in that position with Doucoure. For all his work rate he's never in a million years playing a perfectly weighted ball in to the striker's path like that.

But he does still have attributes we benefit from, and he can fill in as a CM when required so given the squad turnover in the summer I think we need to keep him for another year, but on reduced wages.

You know he'll always give 100% and I think we need to keep him around for another year.

To be fair, he did play a great ball in the same game last season to win the game.

He’s always had it in his locker and has produced some very good assists it’s just that part of his game has gone now.

I would be SO SAD to see him leave.

But he is very frustrating to watch when its not happening for him in games.

But his smile.... and his love for the blues is beautiful.
