Beto
Re: Beto
Yeah possibly. Did very well for both goals which to be fair if your striker is doing well in two big moments that should be enough to earn him a slap on the back.
Outside of those I thought some of his rougher edges really showed. Maybe it is tiredness, maybe it's just roughness.
Re: Beto
Passed the ball out of play just before his goal but I thought he was still alright. Couple of headers he got on weren't easy, did will with the one in the first half to even get to it and the one in the second was hard to get any power on it. The fact he's beating defenders to get to them is an improvement in itself.
Re: Beto
I mean, he's never going to be a top half starting Premier League striker but he has his uses and he knows how to bag a goal which he's shown here now and at Udinese. Quite happy to enjoy this run he's on and get on board with the Beto train and if he was our 2nd choice striker going forward then I'd be content with that.
Re: Beto
Is Dom, Chermiti, or Broja closer to a "top half starting premier league striker" than Beto?Shogun wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 10:52 pm I mean, he's never going to be a top half starting Premier League striker but he has his uses and he knows how to bag a goal which he's shown here now and at Udinese. I say nope.
Re: Beto
Dom has been previously like but doesn't matter as he won't be here. Chermiti has potential but unlucky with injuries that might have fucked him. Broja ain't nothing to do with us.
Beto just has too many weaknesses in his game and at 27 then that isn't going to change. Simply not good enough all round play but whilst he continues to bag goals at such a rate then I'm happy to keep him as a back-up.
Assuming Beto reverts to a 1 in 3 striker then any match he doesn't score in will really highlight his weaknesses.

Re: Beto
I'd be all in if we could sell him and recoup what we shelled out
His value has definitely gone up over the last few weeks, sell while the irons hot ,he's not the answer if we want to be finishing top 10 in this league

Re: Beto
And buy what. If beto isn't a 10 top striker then we don't have 1. So we sell beto we probably need to buy 3 strikers in the summerbigtonyblue wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2025 9:34 am I'd be all in if we could sell him and recoup what we shelled out

Re: Beto
Wouldn't be bothered if hes our starting striker next season and we use our money to provide a great base behind him.
Also i Wouldn't be against buyinh a forward with better all round play and seeing him benched again.
Cant be selling him this summer with DCL & Broja gone and Chermiti being largely untested.
