Re: The Rebuild
Squad for next season:
Pickford
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
O'brien
Mykolenko
Patterson
Garner
Iroegbunam
McNeil
Ndiaye
Beto
Chermitti
Loans:
I would try to keep Mangala and Alcaraz here.
Contract extensions/new contracts:
@Blueomar for life
Gana 1yr
Doucoure 1yr
Coleman 1yr (gonna get crucified for this but need to see him lead us out at BMD - heart over head here but I don’t care!)
What we need:
LB
RB
CB
CM x2
RW/LW
ST x2
(Basically a whole team, bar a goalkeeper)
Pickford
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
O'brien
Mykolenko
Patterson

Re: The Rebuild
I wouldn’t be surprised if we dont sign a forward and try get away with Beto Chermiti and at a push N'Diaye.
Re: The Rebuild
Mangala was really good for us but I'd look elsewhere first because of the seriousness of his injury.

The Rebuild
Do we have an idea on what sort of money we might have to spend?
In my head I’m guessing fifty to seventy five million which seems like a lot on paper but once you’ve signed Lindstrom and Charly it’s not much left

Re: The Rebuild
Surely we are gonna pass on lindstrom as things stand. He's got no goals no assists and he isn't quick

Calvert-Lewin - wants out let him go
Doucourè - look to replace if better option available
Keane - let him go
Gueye - keep
Young - let go
Coleman - as a player let go- a position within the club defo keep
Begovic -keep
Virginia - let go
End of Loan
Lindstrom -let go
Mangala- keep
Broja
Harrison - let go
Alcaraz-keep
Players Staying
Pickford
Branthwaite
Tarkowski
O'brien
Mykolenko- if can replace do
Patterson - undecided not seen enough of him…if 1 more year and if he plays ?
Garner - keep
Iroegbunam- keep
McNeil - keep
Ndiaye - keep
Beto - better options out there ie Delap let go
Chermitti - undecided as per Patterson
Would give a new contract to Doucourè, Gueye and Coleman, POSSIBLY Calvert-Lewin but that's more likely to be dictated to by him.
As for the loans, on a personal level, would send Harrison, Mangala and Broja back and would sign Alacaraz and Lindstrom permanently.
I know we haven't seen a lot of Alacaraz and very little in terms of contributions from Lindstrom but still better than the alternatives, I reckon alcaraz will prove to be OK.
I liked mangala but question marks about his injury and also at the price quoted I'd rather we looked at a younger version of him with similar qualities than shell out. He's done OK though.
Would leave us ideally needing
LB
RB
CB
CM
RW/LW
Striker, possibly 2 to allow Chermitti out on loan and if Dom goes.
A lot of work

Re: The Rebuild
Depends I suppose, our squad is that small we might go for a known quantity for a squad player to tide us over. Equally can see him going777Kidnappings wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 1:28 pm Surely we are gonna pass on lindstrom as things stand. He's got no goals no assists and he isn't quick

Re: The Rebuild
There's no way I would extend Coleman, Doucoure, or Young. Just no way. Gana, sure (but just one more season). Open more regular roles for Charly and Our Tim.
I'd bring in two new dudes to battle it out at right back (hopefully at least one flexible enough to back up Myko). Start phasing out Tarkowski in favour of JOB.
If possible, I'd extend Mangala's loan (presumably on the cheap, since he likely won't see the pitch until 2026), see how he recovers. But he belongs here if at all possible. I'd permanently sign Harrison and Lindstrom, if the price is low (as it should be), but not count on them as every match starters.
I'd look to sell McNeil, unless he can convert to LB.
After RB, my priority would be creativity in midfield, and a young centre-half. I am content for Beto and Chermiti to be the main centre forward options. Think that should be the last piece to install, after foundations are laid.

Re: The Rebuild
Just don't understand how Doucs can go from starting midfielder to completely not needed.
How?
How?
Re: The Rebuild
Your mate Charly will be replacing him soon

For real though, he's just on too much money for the player that he is. At his age as well, we'd be daft to give him another contract considering it's probably unlikely he'd agree to a 1 year deal.
He's also only actually scored 2 goals this season
Re: The Rebuild
Its not really about how much we have, because i imagine thats a fair bit. Its how much of it PSR lets us use.StirlingBlue wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 1:21 pm Do we have an idea on what sort of money we might have to spend?

I imagine we sign 5 or 6 players for a fair whack but due to their deals it will only cost us 50 or 60 million this summer.

So you mean he's one of our top scorersShogun wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2025 3:44 pm Your mate Charly will be replacing him soon![]()
