The standard of keepers these days isn’t great

Yes but if you think Alisson is just okay then I'm not sure your opinion counts for much no matter who you are.

Plenty of great players have made terrible pundits over the years.

Nev seems like he has an axe to grind with Everton.. he loves the club for sure, but there's an edge. Pickford is a great keeper if slightly unorthodox at times.

Can’t remember really but was Nevs distribution on a par with Picks ?

Think it's hard to compare then and now. Same with tackles... Tarks was firm but fair 40 years ago 😄😄

He'd do the same as most 'keepers in those days. Pick it up and launch it.

Yeah they all used to launch it out of the hands, as high and far as possible to a Graeme Sharp/insert other tall forward for the smaller striker next to him to pick up the scraps on the 2nd ball. Even the footballing teams did that. It was closer to a rugby ''up and under'' than an actual pass.

I can remember Nev struggling when the pass back rule was changed - as I'm sure they all did, I think it was towards the end of his career

Nev's earned the right to an opinion, but I find him overly opinionated.

Love the man for what he did for the club, though he does seem very glass half empty.. obviously it's been a torrid time for the club recently so he's right to be critical of it, but what he's says loses credibility when he's overly negative about Pickford, and Alisson.

Like someone pointed out its an ego thing for Nev.

He's always been a bit of curmudgeon, even as a player.

I was lucky enough to win a prize at arsenal away when I was about 6 or 7, we were in a box through my dad's work, and he was the player giving it to me. He just walked in, dropped it on me and walked away, no photos, no words or anything and it was the 2-1 win, so you'd have thought he'd be in a good mood.
