I suppose my counter argument to that would be that we're comparing Dyche to one of the most toxic managers the club has ever had who was well over the hill, and one of the worst, least qualified managers ever to be in the Premier League. We (and Dyche) are massively lucky that the teams below us this year have been so awful, that it's going to take a very low total to stay up.

The winless run was bad and performances haven't been good for a while, but neither Lampard nor Benitez would have got us anywhere near 40 points with better players so think it's harsh on Dyche to say he's only doing slightly better.

I know you dislike him as manager but fair fucks he's in a different league to Lampard or Benitez, even if it's still not a very good league.

Hard to compare Dyche to any other Everton managers other than Benitez and Lampard, because the ones before had considerably better players to pick from.
It's also a huge hammer blow to have the points deductions hanging over the squad, it must be so difficult to manage.
Do I like the football? No its awful. Would a more progressive manager have us any higher? Maybe, but it comes with a higher risk in this league with a poor squad.
The thing for me was the poor run, I would have changed the manager if I could after the Bournemouth game. But hopefully we've turned a corner, because we haven't really got a choice but to buckle in and get behind them at the games.
If we survive, there's better managers out there, but if we keep him he needs some more pace in the squad. Which we'll buy with IOUs and John Lewis vouchers. It's all different shades of shit until we sort the ownership out and move grounds.
Agree. You have to judge Dyche on points without any deductions and he has done ok.
