It’s very important when passing backwards to use your stronger foot so you don’t inadvertently give the ball away and give the opposition a break.

If he does I hope it’s to play and not just sit on the bench which is no use to anyone, least of all his progression

Wary of that.

I like Moyes, obviously, but don’t trust him to stick with someone like Armstrong in the first eleven unless he’s playing absurdly well for an 18-19 year old in the PL.

The most important thing is for him to play regularly and get comfortable with the demands of a full season. His talent is apparent, I expect he’ll be able to hack it at this level, but playing a full season against grown men playing for their livelihoods is radically different to anything he’s experienced before. This is a safe environment for him when he’s playing well but less so when he’s carrying a few knocks and is worn down from fixture accumulation. PNE is a much safer place for him to learn to perform consistently while coping with the fatigue of regular first team football.

Having said all that, there’s also the possibility that we have no real money to spend and that this is our only option to bolster our midfield depth during a heavily congested time of year for fixtures, in which case all of what I just said is irrelevant.

Yeah, he wouldn’t get played much
