It makes no sense if we see him on the pitch because he’s a calamity that drags the whole team on the pitch down with him.
Makes even less sense financially if you’re giving a seasoned pro a contract and wages to sit on the bench for a whole season and hope he doesn’t play. You’re not telling me that for whatever his wages are this season, we could not find a young prospect to be 4th choice. Someone who is already playing first team football at a lower level and is ready to step up. Having someone like that in the mix that you can blood here and there makes WAY more financial sense to me.
So - in summary - doesn’t make sense to have him on the pitch and it doesn’t make sense to have him on the books.
Not behind this one at all.
I like him a lot - I just wish he’d go somewhere else and boss it.

Also played well at the end of the season when he came in, and we aren't playing Keane over JOB at CB as Moyes has already shown he'll pick the latter over Keane.
All seems a very OTT reaction to retaining a player who's perfectly fine as a 4th choice CB. No one wants him playing a decent number for games, but as long as the wages are reasonable then there's nothing to really moan about.
Having depth in a position providing the wages don't impact other spending is actually smart play, why leave yourself unnecessarily short in an area if you get a couple of injuries if you don't need to?
If obrien is used more as a right back then Keane goes to 3rd choice centre half but we’ll have to see how that pans out.
I find it hard to believe the player and the club have come to an arrangement that says you’re 4th choice centre half, you’ll play 5-10 games and your wages will be reduced, sound good?
Don’t know why he’d accept that. I just fear we’ll go through another Micheal Keane cycle next season.

I don't think I can take another season of the same handful of people chuntering out the same thing every time his name come up.

Handful really I’d say it’s a handful or less that want to keep him

Moyes already played Patterson and Young at RB over moving O'Brien there to accommodate Keane... He only played JOB at RB when Branthwaite and Tarks were fit, then played JOB at CB the moment either were injured.
Think you're reading too much in to this tbh.

I was talking about both sides of the debate, there's really nothing new to add from either side. Hopefully Burnley offer him some decent wages to go there.

He is a liability. He cant be trusted. There is literally no point in him being here. Would rather have no 4th CB than him.

People are so dramatic. All this drama on who might be our 4th choice centre half. Imagine if that was the clubs biggest worry these last few years.
You'd think he were Stephen Hawking the way people talk. Hes fine. On occasion awful. On occasion very good.

If we actually sign a backup left back I’d play Mykolenko at CB ahead of Keane

Have any of us seen mykolenko play centre back? We could play Keane upfront then and try baines as holding midfielder.

4th choice is in the team with one injury or suspension we have a new era about to start new stadium and owners let’s not start it off with a new contract for a guy who just brings chaos to the pitch when he plays

I just think he’s been rubbish for us and would rather let him leave on a free than continue to keep him around.

The season before we signed him he played about half his games as CB and half as LB for Dynamo Kyiv & Ukraine so he can definitely play there.
He’d probably be about the same standard as Keane with the difference being we’re only playing one player.
It would mean we need a competent backup LB though to free him up if needed

I think he's been ok for us but still agree with the sentiment.

I don't think anyone ''wants'' to keep him.
Just a few saying they can see why we would, in the circumstances.
