It’s not a surprise, because we are likely offering him far less than what he is currently being paid, and probably what he is worth.

Hopefully means he gets sold. Even if it's to Dortmund or whatever, I've seen this bloke attempt to play enough football that he won't be a success at a club like that.

I'm more concerned that we are trying to renew him

Probably because we have so few defenders and he can play all across the back four.

				Oh I get it.
He’s the worst footballer we’ve ever seen more a rugby player lad lol haha.
He’s an important squad member and someone I’d rather not have to go through trying to replace considering the state the squad could be in with Brathwaite and Onana going.

If that’s true then he has to be sold on for whatever we can get, and replaced
No room for sentiment in our position

I think we have to consider things like nobody meeting the Branthwaite valuation, and the same with Onana, both of which are entirely possible. Reports have suggested that Arsenal don't want Onana now, and there's not many clubs who are ready and able to buy a CB for £75m.
So you may need to raise cash elsewhere, and someone like Godfrey with a year left might be a prime candidate.

Iwobi went for good money with 1 year left.
I think if decent money comes in we obviously have to sell, I'm kinda with Ram on this one though.
He is obviously poor, as are most of our back up options.
But we still need a squad and have a strict shoe string budget this season. If you're looking at our CB back up options, Holgate, Keane and Godfrey then Godfrey for me is definitely the lesser of 3 evils.
They all need to go like, but I'd rather see Keane and Holgate go long before he does.
His rejection suggests to me that he maybe doesn't want to be here himself so it's likely he'll be sold if we receive the right offer.

Not a great source, but for what it's worth

I read this as him rejecting multiple offers from clubs as he's renewing his contract with us.
The comments after really confused me so went back and read it properly... Amazing how skim reading something can alter the meaning completely

Any truth to this and we have to sell. Can't lose an asset for free with our situation.

No issue with him leaving especially if we're getting £15m or so for him. Would be a steal honestly- he's occasionally adequate at a few different positions but he's not actually good at any of them.
