Only saw a 2 min highlights vid but he looked the brightest light in a very dull game.

Easy to forget he is 19 years old. He needs to learn everything about the game still and we have to be patient with him over the next year or two.

I quite liked his performance, albeit I thought he had a couple of chances to really open his legs up and run full steam at their defence. For whatever reason, perhaps a lack of confidence, he decided against it.

The best bit of play was where he had the ball at the edge of their box, suckered in a defender, shifted it to the left and then drew a foul from another defender. It was top quality and was just a hint of what he’s capable of.

He needs to work harder. All for giving him time in terms of end product, but you can't 'encourage' hard work with nice words and patience. If you're not putting in a shift the crowd will tell you and quite rightly so. If he does that the crowd will show him far more patience than if he waltzes about like he's Ginola without delivering much of note. He showed a couple of nice touches yesterday, nothing amazing, but what struck me was there was very little movement off the ball and he seemed to be behind the play in both directions when he wasnt actively involved. Match fitness will come but he needs to go up several levels in effort. If he does that and Moyes is playing him, he can have all the time in the world.

He did two good things in the game and not a lot else

Thats 2 good things more than most of the rest of the team

Wasn’t that was the reason Moyes gave for not playing him before? Not putting in enough of a shift in training or something similar.

He’s clearly got skill, but I genuinely don’t think I know what his top speed is

I think once everything clicks for him he’ll potentially be a real threat. Certainly one of the most interesting prospects in our squad along with Armstrong now.

He wasn't great but he had some good moments and showed he's got a lot of technical ability. Moments where he took players on like when he did a trick to get around their player on the halfway line and legged it past him on the wing and another where he went past a couple of players and won a foul on the edge of the box. Encouraging signs that we've signed an actual footballer.

We're also probably comparing him to what we're used to on that side in Ndiaye who (probably along with Cherki at Man City) is arguably the most skillful player in the league.

What I saw from Dibling yesterday would suggest that a settled and confident version of him would be a very useful and dangerous player for us. Just got to get him in that frame of mind.

Giving him a chance and looking forward to seeing more in time, but its clearly an early observation that he needs to work much harder off the ball and I'd hope thats being fed back to him.

Thats not really harsh is it.
