Quite a lot has been done to be fair.
The ferry terminal is complete and there’s a good walkway between that and the ground, although there is still a bit of wasteland inbetween.
I was expecting a few more pubs to pop up but I think they will come eventually.
I think more can be done around there definitely but our council is an absolute shambles at making the most of opportunities.
Just look round there at the amount of abandoned buildings half built because big Joe signed off a load of contracts to his mates who didn’t have the money to complete them.
That whole area should have been completed years back.
There was all kinds going on with those contracts like. Bordering on mafiosa type stuff I think.
Massive shame but yeah hopefully some bits start to pop up, someone will know how to make money from it surely.
Is blackstock on the way from sandhills?
What pubs are there between town and the stadium, not many ATM right?
Hope we don't get shite zany concept bars.
Really could have done with more transport links surely.

Have any of the wasteland looking docks between BM and town had any buildings built on them? A couple of them looked like they'd be prime for being converted to car parks when it was first being touted around. Mad that nothings been sorted yet.
Yeah, you'd think the cost of some more land in the grand scheme of things wouldn't be a lot more in addition to the stadium costs. Plus longer term it would be a decent cash generator for the club, a few thousand spaces at £10-12 a game plus whatever other events they stage at the ground. One way or another they're going to have 52k people arriving in the area, whether that's on foot, public transport or car and it doesn't feel like the area is ready for it. The test events could be interesting.

Can anyone who's been to the Emirates, New White Hart Lane or West Ham's ground in a car confirm if they've got any car parks? Wembley didn't for years, and it was only with the development of the hotels that they've now got a multi-storey. Its still shite getting away from though even with the 3 tube/train lines.
The football might not be the biggest problems in that whilst there is still a lot of cars to park in the grand sceme of things a lot of the match goers will be local and to an extent can use public transport or walk. Its when you think about the potential for concerts and the like where its going to be late night finishes and nowhere near enough car parking available in the vicinity.

Surely the vast majority of match day attendees will use public transport, this is where they need to concentrate their efforts, Getting away from Goodison park is absolute shite, thousands of people suddenly emptying onto narrow Gwladys st.
I have gone for the East Stand as that seems to be the most spacious fast escape to where hopefully there will be buses back to Lime St. There’s a 5.45 and a 6.45 to Euston it’s too much of a gamble to book the 5.45 but should be possible from BMD, I book the 6.45 and spend almost an hour hanging around, would be nice to get back home for MOTD nowadays !

Goodison would have the same problem if there wasn't so many pubs around it.
During the Kirkby fiasco a big deal was made about Goodison's "dispersal rate" without taking that into account

How do the council plan on managing the parking situation when the ground is used for concerts and they have 70 k plus people turning up?

There was no parking at Anfield concerts either so no difference, just a better stadium.

I'm getting a little concerned as to what I'll do now when going to BMD. Its a 40 minute walk to lime street if I get the train, and Sandhills looks like it won't handle much footfall fast, and I have no idea where I would park if coming by car.
It just looks like the council have put all their effort into where people CAN'T park than actually developing solutions for those coming from outside Liverpool.
On Twitter they have just been posting cut and paste responses to those asking, (basically "walk") which is fab for those travelling from miles away.

I don't, I drive and park in car parks. I mentioned Lime Street because that seems to be Liverpool City Councils solution for all fans outside of Liverpool with BMD.

I’m in the same boat, getting back to Cheshire. it’s more of a concern for night games for me. Happy to hang around the facilities at the ground for an hour or two whilst the crowds go down at the weekend
