No, as you say it’s it’s a turn of phrase. We won four games in a row and the fanbase was very happy with him not too long ago. Now they’re not, and it’s up to him to change it.

The general gist of that quote is correct. There’s a reason ‘view from the bullens’ chose that quote to put out.

They know people will just see the word messiah and ignore the context how the word was used and create outrage.

It’s all so so very boring.

The last 15 games is much more than loss of form, the 4 consecutive wins leading up to it was, in hindsight, more a lucky run with a temporary magic key - our 2024 results is the true reflection of where we are at: relegation fodder; the previous 2 seasons don't lie.

So funny how in just 15 games opinion can change. Just 4 months without a win, and suddenly everyone's a critic.

Thankfully the idiots can only 'deem' it as not good enough because the reality is that they're clueless and he's actually doing a top job.

No, we were playing reasonably well before the 4 wins, so it wasn't just a lucky run at all. We had a higher Xg than a number of opponents in the first half of the season, and lots more shots than a number of our opponents. We had a decent points tally by mid December and we deserved more points in a few other games.

Let's not be revisionist, just because plenty of us don't like or want him now.

Unfortunately, the last 4 months since then have been so disastrously bad, that the wheels have come off and he does appear to have lost the players. The thing that really drums that point home to me is that we had a 3 week break and a trip away, to re-organise and re-energise, and we appear to have got even worse since then.

Most who begrudgingly gave him some credit during those four wins had reverted back to hating him after the Wolves defeat at the end of December. Opinions were formed as soon as he was appointed so it didn't take long to go back to those opinions as soon as a couple of defeats came along, never mind 15 games.

Might just be a small thing but I'm coming around the to 'lost the players' idea. The comments from Dyche about Onana coming through training but saying he was 'too sore' to play the other week and then saying Gana "woke up and felt his calf" ahead of the Chelsea game is something that I don't think you really hear any manager say about players, especially in the case of Onana.

And yeah, you might think "Good on him for calling them out" but there's probably a good reason managers don't frame it in that way even if it's true.

Something certainly seems amiss, bullishness fading, maybe(?) In his defence, a most exhausting and demoralising season to contend with, and possibly just simply drained; extremely difficult to operate when fed up and fatigued - I do sympathise, but sympathy won't keep us up.

And maybe there was more to that Patterson incident in Portugal, re: lost the players...

I agree that the stuff with Onana and Gana feels a bit odd, but I suppose we can't say what that is definitively. I suspect you're right, but I don't want to be accused of anti-Dyche confirmation bias on that front. Maybe it's a weird coincidence.

I think the players all playing badly at the same time for an extended period is more than enough evidence that he has lost the players. I mean, what better evidence can there be? I know we don't have a fantastic squad, but we certainly have a number of players who have showed significantly higher levels than they have been showing for the last few months. Again, not saying we have a great squad but we've seen higher levels of performance from almost all of them at different times. Is it a huge coincidence that everyone is playing terribly, even lads who are linked with £60-100m transfers? Hmm.

And the knock on effect of the horrendous run we've been on is that it gaslights some of the fanbase into ''all our players are garbage'' type thinking, which just patently isn't true, which then covers the manager's glaring inadequacies (in my view). Again, I'm not completely absolving the players of blame. It would be nice to see them play better even despite the manager's failings. But at this point, more so than ever, once professional footie players aren't having the manager anymore, and once his messages just aren't working or inspiring a clear reaction, it's already pretty much over and it's a question of ''when'' rather than ''if'' he goes on his way.

You can see Onana is totally disillusioned with the way we are playing it must be mind numbing for a young guy looking to play ball to be looking at it sailing over his head all the time gana similar but probably checked out as he will be off in the summer

Poor bugger. Maybe we could start a go fund me for him when he sods off and we are relegated and enter administration. Totally disillusioned with him wandering about doing nothing but sporadically pretending to be injured 3 or 4 times a game. He's been absolute shite. Personally I think he fails at a good team. Think it will say a lot more about his character while here if he's a success
