Everybody takes a touch, look ups and then decides what they might do. And that's very easy to defend.

Either players aren't comfortable with passing to someone on the move, or they can't control a ball on the move but in any case, all the passes look like control the ball, stop, pass it to another motionless player, rinse and repeat.

Put Watkins up top, Foden at CAM and Gordon at LW. Whether you drop Bellingham or stick him next to Rice, you get a much better England team.

I think just take Bellingham off, get Foden in the middle and Gordon on the left. I would prefer Wharton for Mainoo but he's not going to do that.

Illegal though? He's obviously got plenty of holes in his game to not be playing. These are the circumstances where he should play but they make out he's one of the best players in the world.
