The problem is, he was woeful against West Ham.
He IS and DOES play better coming off the bench.
Neither he or Barry are good enough to start at the moment.

Made some excellent runs and battled well.
Still almost set up a Palace goal with a heinous touch. I don’t know how but somehow, he needs eradicate those moments from his game.

Would have loved him to have got the goal it would have done him a lot of good, Henderson just did enough to keep it out.

Was a great save to deny him. Grealish will not be going back to City, scoring and feeling the love will keep him here I’m sure.

Was a decent header for our goal. Did everything right just unlucky.

This whole he plays better off the bench is just bollocks IMO, it’s the old “correlation is not causation” thing
That appears to be the case cos if he’s coming on we are chasing and trying stuff and putting balls thru all of a sudden
When he starts, generally we are playing crap boring football, going sideways slowly and getting grealish penned in by his 3 markers
It’s the system/ tactics, that is the correlation and causation of better performances, not the minute in time he enters the pitch
Barry is just objectively worse in every regard, as it stands. Maybe he will come good m, but for me that will have to be off the bench

Not only that, but I thought he attacked the ball like few others in the league would be capable of. Fast and loses a marker with ease.
That part of his game is pretty decent to be fair to him. He doesnt always get on the end of it though, but when it does...

Decent point about the change in approach when we're trying to save the game. If we play to his strengths he will score. It's crazy playing the same balls to him that we know he can't deal with.

I didn't see the game as my kid had a golf tournament, but watched the highlights today, thought he attacked the ball brilliantly and was unlucky not to score.
Main thing is he created the goal by aggressively attacking the ball and if he can do more of that it'll make a massive difference to our game.

We need to start playing to his strengths instead of launching the ball up to his head when there's 2 defenders on him.
last season he was scoring goals from that clever run off of them...our tactics need to be smarter.
that's on Moyes.

Onw thing that does my head in with him is he gets dropped comes back and plays very well works hard deserves a goal.
I bet you though he will start the next 2 or 3 and be crap in all of them.
Very frustrating.

Not sure about Moyes comments, I think I'd be focusing more on the great save, rather than saying "Beto should score. You know, the goalkeeper shouldn't get a chance to save it, and he does. Thankfully, Jack's there to get the rebound".

Feel like beto responds to that type of stuff.
He’ll know what to say and who to say it to, moyes.
