Seen that before from Moyes. I remember him saying something similar about Radzinski and his conversion rate from one on ones.
I think Moyes knows what players respond to and the comments are ok.

He’s also not wrong. Did everything right up to the connection and then put his absolute fucking heart and soul through it - but straight down the middle.

Thump a header like that either side of the keeper from that close range and it is unfuckingstoppable.

I think that was Moyes’ point to Beto. He could’ve had a goal.

He’ll know what to say and who to say it to, moyes.
Hope so!

I’m not into manager’s digging players out in the media, it’s a bit shithouse

He should have scored though. Moyes just wants a striker who can score and control a ball, like we all do.

Barry was that bad that he deserves a spell as a sub now, stick with Beto for some consistency.

I don’t think saying that he should have scored is digging him out.

He made a point of saying it.

I’m not into that.

Keep it in house.

He got into a good position, and powered it well, just the direction wasn’t there.

Yeah, I'd be on the side of that's not great from Moyes. Maybe Beto takes it as motivation though, I don't know. I just think for public comments it's best to build up the players especially as we know the strikers are probably not at their most confident right now.

When you look back at the replays, it really was a whisker away from going under Henderson, it just took a slight nick of the underside of him and it bounced out. It was a fairly unlucky, balanced out by Grealish getting a bit of luck with the deflection.

Anyhow, not really a big deal I doubt.

I'm not really a fan of Moyes' digs at Beto either, and looking at Beto' this pre season, and the way he's started the season he does seem at times like somethings affecting him. Definitely not the same player as the 2nd half of last season although it was better when he came on Saturday. Just think its unnecessary and could have contributed to his confidence taking a little bit of knock early on.

Yeah I'm sticking by what I said actually, it's not nice.

Beto doesn't seem like the player who would respond well to that and not sure about why anyone would think he would?

He seems a confidence player and needs an arm round not spouting randomly after games.

We won't know if it's good or bad thing but I just think, we have scored a last minute winner, and it's now international break.

Don't put a downer on him. When there is no need

There's an interview in the Echo where he says the critics motivate him to prove them wrong. Level headed guy it seems. Moyes knows what he's doing i think

I don't think he did much wrong with the header but he's still only scored one goal in seven league appearances this season so I don't think it's all that unfair to challenge him to convert his chances.

Bit much being made over one comment here.

Moyes has been in the game long enough to back himself with how he motivates players.

If that comment is going to impact beto in any way then he shouldn’t be playing at this level.

I doubt Moyes has told him anything he doesn't already know, Beto will know he should have scored, it's a free header in the middle of the goal, any decent striker should be bagging that.
