Not having that we are anywhere near a relegation battle.

Comfortable mid table, slight improvement on 48 points for me.

We would have to go on a similar run like lampard and Dyche to be in Serious trouble like a 12 game winless streak , some of these have shown it's possible but we are also capable of winning 4/5.

Form and performances haven't settled down yet for us and a lot of teams . We've won games we shouldn't have and drew or lost that really didn't deserve to. If we hit December in the bottom 3 then it could become a slog.
Currently 5pts of 6th and 6pt off bottom 3.

45-48pts

1 win since August. No matter which way you look at it, that is garbage form.

And the league is definitely stronger this year, all the 'lesser' teams picking up points.

It's a bit scary at the minute.

Blues Mahoney wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 2:39 pm Same here, definitely concerned. We just don't look very good and the real kick in the balls is that there isn't 3 teams who look worse.

Wolves, Burnley maybe and who else? Forget Forest, their squad is too good, Dyche will eek out enough 1-0's. Forget West Ham, their squad is better than ours and Nuno is a decent manager, they'll have enough to get out of it.

Leeds maybe? Sunderland have gone, see you later.

We have no decent striker, no competent full backs, a centre back who's going through a purple patch but we've all seen what can happen, and a very average midfield.

For the record I think we have enough to stay up and i think we will. But to say we have "no chance" of being in trouble is crazy.

If we're more than 3 or 4 points off the relegation zone come the end of December I'll be shocked.
Not saying West Ham can't turn it around, Nuno is a decent manager as he's shown but I have been surprised about his early door flailing around in the last two games, I expected him to tweak one or two things and them to be ok. I don't know if you saw them play Brentford at home but that was honestly one of the worst performances I've seen from a PL team in a long, long time. Brentford legitimately could've been 4 up by half time, and West Ham looked so confused it seemed by what they were doing. The score massively flattered them. Point being I think you're waving over other team's issues a little compared to our own. Their fixtures up to new year are Newcastle, Burnley, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Man United, Brighton, Villa, Man City then Fulham. That's not a list I look at and think there are easy points for them. They'll do well to get out of the bottom 3 this calendar year I'd imagine. But we'll see.

3rd spot is the problematic one, I think Dyche will be good enough to sort Forest out and pull them up. Can't really take too much from them losing away to Bournemouth as yet.

Generally speaking I think we'll be ok, but I also imagine the point total needed will be higher given what Burnley and Leeds are doing, so I think it'll be something of a grind still and less comfortable than some are making out. I expect a lot of us were hoping for a more sedate season, but it'll probably be a bit more transitional unless we really get lucky with some January signings that address our squad balance issues.

Dyche won’t have Forest any higher than 15th imo.

He’ll spin it as a success but with the squad they should be looking at getting top half.

Happy they’ve gone with him. He keeps them down there for me.

I'm not sure you know.

He got us 15th with an 8 point deduction and a worse squad.

I think they'll finish around lower mid table but yes, they should be top half, it's a good squad.

All good points. I'm hoping we can address some issues in January but I fear we won't have much to spend.

I would have LOVED a sedate season, mid table does me fine for now 🤞🏻

Shows the importance of the cup imo. We could now be going into a midweek game away to Wycombe for a QF place which would have made the bang average start a bit more tolerable.

Instead, it's all gone very flat.

So what round of games do you think they'll overtake us? They'll probably need to gain 7 points given the goal difference.

1-3 November - Forest v Man United, Sunderland v Everton
8-9 November - Everton v Fulham, Forest v Leeds
22-24 November - Liverpool v Forest, Man United v Everton
29-30 November - Everton v Newcastle, Forest v Brighton

(Going to be nice and assume you meant sometime in December rather than by the time December comes around)

2-3 December - Bournemouth v Everton, Wolves v Forest
6 December - Everton v Forest
13-14 December - Chelsea v Everton, Forest v Tottenham
20-22 December - Everton v Arsenal, Fulham v Forest
27 December - Forest v Man City, Burnley v Everton
30 December - Forest v Everton

If you want to say 100% certain by the the end of the first game week in December and you'll accept that then no probs.

How many points do you see for us in Nov - maybe 3 more if we turn up at home to Fulham?

Less said about December the better.

Fulham were terrible against Newcastle, I would bet on us beating them.

Probably 4 points maybe 5 from Nov starting with a draw against Sunderland.

3-4 points from December.

Early season optimism has certainly gone, but I also think Moyes is making a lot of the issues we're facing with his selections and fixing those would help us pick up points at a better rate.

We actually have a decent enough team, it's just the manager hasn't figured out the best 11 yet and is stubbornly trying to make his favoured line up work.

I think we'll probably see a repeat of the team that faced Spurs on Monday as until they scored Moyes did have some fresh ideas with Myko high up to occupy one of the defenders allow Jack to cut inside more without being doubled up on, and then Jack dropping deep to make space down the channel for Beto to run in to (and miscontrol the ball), but I'm not convinced that's going to be effective given the personnel on the pitch.

I appreciate you committing to a date. Our fixtures don't look massively different from Forest's really. I'm hoping Moyes is forced into some changes which turns our fortunes a bit. I am not expecting much from us or Forest during this period.

Those two matches against Forest could end up pivotal in terms of keeping a decent distance in the points between us.

Think we pick up a solid amount of points in the next two months.

Lot of winnable games in there.
