Ran too straight meaning he couldn't really get enough of an angle on it... In that situation the initial run has to be slightly angled or the final touch before shooting creates an angle.

He did neither and although it's a good save he made it much easier for him than it should have been.

Definitely got the yips.

Thought Dyche handled it well in the post-match.

I mean, my arse has gone but hopefully this arm around approach is working for Dom and keeping too much pressure off. Needs that sweet spot of feeling pressure to do well without so much it negatively impacts him.

Difficult to see him miss them isn't it. By all rights should be on nearly ten for the year plus more on the cups and the narrative would be totally different - finally fit, finally back.

Only option though is to stick with him and hope it comes back to him, maybe he can level it up with a purple patch, that would be nice.

He still makes the side perform better when he's on the pitch with his pressing and hold up, even if he was a bit sloppy at the weekend TBF.

Because the alternative is not viable, I would say.

Needs to start playing in empty stadiums again, seems to be the only time he hit a bit of form.

He's never been good at one v ones tbf to him, even in his best season I remember this was a criticism of him.

Just needs an instinctive finish to get the goals rolling again, because that's what he's good at. For him a one v one is probably not the chance he needs to find his goal scoring form again.

What I would say is that it was a good save, but he is definitely overthinking things when it comes to the key moments.

When he is through one on one, there needs to be no thinking going on. There isn't really time to think things through, and it has to be completely instinctive. He doesn't appear to have that instinct at the moment.

He is a really good finisher, but if he is overthinking during the key moments in games, then he is second guessing himself, and the action often becomes forced. He needs to let his skill and talent take care of the big moments, which is a confidence thing.

It was a good save. Any sort of lift and it’s in the net. But the more lift the more risk of putting it near the keeper, that’s why the advice is always to go low. Which is what he did.

Wonder if Martinez put him off as well? Feel like most keepers come running out to narrow the angle but he just stayed put really.

Absolutely has to be scoring though.

This is probably what he is as a striker now he has a lot of injuries on the clock.

Sorry he was poor on saturday - ball bouncing off him all the time - passing it way - the game passed him by - hardly closed down - hardly won a header- couldn't read the game and the miss was very poor - his body language made it easy for martinez- he didnt even give martinez the eyes - and yes he shud've lifted it to martinez right as he was already moving to dive to his left.
It's deffo a confidence thing with him at the minute he doesn't look "all there" to me.
