I don’t think he’s terrible, he’ll work hard and press…although on the downside on the pitch his behaviour at times would likely get him more red cards than he got at Chelsea. Arguably if anything they’ve shown there is more of a risk to buying him given another season with a lack of goals and unreliable fitness too.

I’m a no at Delap too, regardless of price, if he’s not worth £40m with his scoring record then he’s not worth 30 or even 20, he’s either the answer or he’s not regardless. I’d rather keep the money for someone with a better track record.

I sort of agree with this, mostly, but I just see him costing too big a chunk of our transfer kitty.

I’d take a chance on him, he could be ok, but not at the expense of not filling some of the other glaring holes we have.
