I know obviously they have 10x more possession than us but to put into context - over the last year, a supposed fallow year, jack Grealish has been in the 87th percentile for progressive passes. And he plays high up the pitch against packed defences. Eye of a needle merchant. And the 99th percentile for progressive carries! One of the best ball carrying players in the world!

Imagine putting someone in our side who basically never loses the ball, has top top possession play in terms of crisp clean passes constantly to feet or in space, AND can break lines by threading balls or ghosting past people better than 99% of players in world football.

Honestly I don't think we get him and I don't think it would move the needle that much but watching him would be like watching a different sport. Cannot stress enough how far off CL our attackers are...except for Ndiaye who I am quietly backing to have a supernova year.

He also wins innumerable freekicks high up the pitch, and allows the team lots of dangerous set piece positions.

We'll not get him, but it would be a huge upgrade on our ability to progress the ball forward and retain possession high up the pitch.

He's top drawer Grealish. It would absolutely be worth making him our top earner for a season, on 150k with City subsidising the rest, and enjoy watching the blues every week before sending him back, don't see the issue.

It's not happening like, but I'd be made up if it did.

Anyway what's going on with big Terry Barry

Quality/affordability/ROI aside, he's a fucking great lad, Jack Grealish, so I'd have absolutely no concerns about him from that point of view.

It's clear to see, Pep has bored his tits off. He'll likely have many better offers than us but if he were to come, however long for, I could see him fitting in really well and being electric.

Realistically there's no way someone like Arsenal wouldn't throw £50m at him

Would be a jaw dropper in this side just on his ability to receive the ball and pass it forwards.
At the expense of being able to spend more on a right winger and right back? Not for me.

And that point is now also a moot one, ironically 😉

Yeah tbf in my dream scenario we get him for a steal because city are desperate to lose him and will pay 75% of his wages to make it happen.

Big money I want spent on our RW for sure.

The manager should obviously be involved in the recruitment and have a say, "significant influence" doesn't fill me with ecouragement though.

Yeah, I hate it and think it sounds terrible.

Will just have to keep an open mind.
