Feels a bit in the stars for a cup this year. Fuck me we deserve it. Loving the vibes at the moment.
No reason why we couldn’t win a cup but it is still to a great extent down to luck of the draw, avoid City, L.Pool, Arsenal away and your half way there, get one or two of those on the way and it’s a different ball game. Then you just have to hope that VAR doesn’t fuck us.

Agreed, needing to avoid the shite is essential.

Reckon we'd give him a big contract?

Give him this season and then he stays based on cup wins/European qualifications
Contracts don't mean a great deal for that. But think 3 year deals are what I'd be wanting

The good thing is, I can't see him having the desire to go anywhere else.

I don't think they'll be in any rush. I still have the feeling that he was brought in as a caretaker, a safe pair of hands for the new owners to allow them to focus on other things knowing they have a manager that will have the best of intentions for the club but long term they'll want someone else. I've nothing to back that up, just a hunch.
I suppose it depends how he does, if he takes us to Europe or a trophy then it'll be hard not to offer him something.

Yeah we absolutely shouldn't rush to extend. Think he's done an amazing job but we need to see that form continue through this season and then more progress at the start of next season before I'd want us to think about extending his contract

No need to rush, and like in his first spell, was always done towards last few months, he always used to say there’s no need to discuss it until the end of the season.

We've got the power in this one. No reason to extend until we need to

As much as it depends on how well he performs, it also depends on what other managers are available/attainable as well.

Would love Carsley to come on the coaching team with a view to taking over

I would love to see someone like Marco Silva back here. Someone with real experience and properly proven now in the PL who has done a great job and plays decent football. Not saying we always need to go back for old managers (!) but I think he would do a great job.
But only once Moyesy feels like he is done here. He deserves every bit of credit that he has got us back to playing football again and competing. I would say that Moyes should be able to end things on his terms, as long as nothing catastrophic happens (which I really don’t envisage).

He did say he doesnt expect to be here as long as he was last time..I think this is his last gig, if its going well I've no doubt he'll extend though.
