They’ll have been busy behind the scenes for months, we don’t see it, we don’t hear it, which is how it should be, we’re just not at the level when we’re first choice for the best players.
All will be fine, just not ideal preparation.
I’ve always believed the transfer window should open on last day of the season and close 30th June, then you have everyone ready for first day of preseason. Winter window open from 1st-8th January.

Haven't watched a pre season game and it's great for my mental health, get more worried reading the flaps from others in the rebuild thread. 2/10

Barry
Travers
Aznou
All good signings so I'm not flapping, plus we made Alcaraz permanent too.
Apart from Travers they're all young and the type of profile we've been crying out for. He's only 26 too and such a big upgrade on any backup keeper we've had in forever.
We also seem to be trying very hard for a game changer CM and wide player.
We'll get what we need overall by the end of the window, probably start a bit slow to begin with but be comfortable mid table by the end of the season.
It's not ideal, but see little point in flapping when we're either signing or pursuing targets that fit what we need and want as a club, although we may end up without huge depth which will hamper us at points in the season.

Apparently Moyes mentioned him in the post-presser, so some are assuming it’s very close to a done deal.
I heard somewhere B.Munich had slipped in a buy-back clause, which helped lower the initial fee and smoothed the discussions.

We should change our motion to "nothing but the best, or flap".

Not really flapping, more resigned to more of the same.

7/10 - don't think there's any reason we shouldn't have been on the ball with signing players and getting them into the squad ready for the start of the season. We knew we'd have a lot to do and to put ourselves under pressure in those August games is just poor.

Because the level of player we’re looking at are in no rush, unless we’re spunking money at them, and that’s not the way to do it, look at the past 7 years.

I’m not full flap yet because I think we are identifying the right type of player but I know we won’t be anywhere near strong enough at the start of the season and will have to pay the price.
All the feel good factor around the club has gone because they’ve been so slow in the market.
We will lose games simply because other teams have five sets of fresh legs to bring on while all we have at the moment is Barry and Armstrong to make a difference.
Just lost 3-0 in pre season, couldn’t even half fill the bench and the manager is passive aggressively calling out the recruitment team in interviews.
It’s not good at the moment. The padding out of the squad that we all talk about should have been done at this point as they’re easy transfers to make.
