I think reading back at season start, its easy to talk sense but you cant help getting carried away and dreaming a bit. I said this was a transiitional season and mid-table would do us fine. I then promptly get ahead of myself and dreamed of a european spot and hopes rise accordingly. so this thread was to sort of reset my expectations and remember its a marathon not a sprint.
We'll have better runs this season and I think by the end of it we'll compare to a season under Dyche and be satisfied we"ve made some good, if not spectacular progress.
Baby steps innit.

I was pretty pessimistic in pre-season tbh because of the results/performances of pre-season and the transfer business. Reticent on Barry. Didn't want us to sign Dibling. Buzzing with Grealish. Dismissive of Michael Keane (although he's done well and proved me wrong, the 'he'll never play, he's 4th choice' were also very wrong). No full-backs was always going to be an issue.
I wanted to be optimistic because of the new stadium and no more Dyche but I expected a poor start (and it's been okay if anything) because of how much of a mess the summer was.
What I expected is probably what we've served up so far. Biggest disappointment for me is still that Wolves cup match.
Definitely didn't think Beto and Barry would be this ineffective though. Didn't think I'd be watching KDH as our number 10 either.

I was wrong about most every specific, but right in the overall result (I said we'd be 11th to 15th in the table)
