He seems to have done the reverse of most aging players, he's retired from domestic football to solely play international football.

It's a wee bit mad. We have a centre half and a midfielder playing RB, while Seamus sits on the bench. I'm not advocating him playing every game but, surely, there's a case to play him against the liked of Fulham? He's probably the best pure RB we have at the club, attacking and defending. I'd love to have a RB anywhere between 19 and 23 but we don't. Play the best we have, if he breaks down then c'est la vie.

I think asking Seamus to play 90 in the EPL is very different to asking him to play 90 minutes in a low block in a game of International football. I’m not for a second taking away from the man. He stepped in and has somehow solidified us. He’s a great leader and one we were badly missing on the pitch.

I’d still play him from the start, until he breaks (if he does).

Against united away Monday week I would be starting Seamus assuming he gets past Hungary unscathed

I do wonder we've got some sort of agreement with him that we'll barely play him but he'll be available for the national team. Otherwise his complete lack of minutes for us is really bizarre, not even sub outings or anything.

Yeah, I was thinking that earlier, we've basically given him a contract so that he can play for Ireland. Hopefully they're picking up his wages too, absolutely pointless contract extension when he's third choice.
