Yeah that would be a win for us, I think.

Johnson's a bit like less technical Walcott for me. Bit of a kick and rush merchant with an eye for goal, and a knack for scoring at the far post from a left wing cross/cut back.

Certainly a better option than McNeezy.

Think he actually gives us some much needed pace.

If he can rekindle the form he produced for Forest he might be handy signing.

Assuming we are also paying Palace a fee plus McNeil?

Great deal for us

It’s a worthwhile risk, I think.

Maybe he’s not as good as he was anymore, maybe his pace goes and we’re left with a few years of a useless contract.

But his value is extremely low (does anyone here rate McNeil as even a £20m player?) and the things he has consistently done well (run in behind defenses, get into good shooting positions, get into good cutback positions) are complementary to Ndiaye and Dibling.

I think the opportunity cost argument would hold more weight if McNeil was worth cash to anyone on the open market. If he was, we’d have taken it already.

I wouldn’t have been interested for what Palace paid but this is a good deal on a swap.

I hope I eat my words but he’s been woeful when I’ve seen him play recently for Wales and I don’t expect him to do much here

Not a fan of Moyes playing him instead of Dibling

Got to be that he’s on astronomical wages and Palace desperately need to get him off the books / they know he’s absolute Pony!

They paid 35mil for him in Jan and Dwight is out of contract in the summer isn’t he?

Something dodgy going on I think

Palace seem desperate to get his £100k/wk wages off the books as they are on the hook for the best part of £25m if he stays and doesn't get used, after they realised he wasn't very good.

The fans were on the verge of booing him end of last season and judging by the forums they're ecstatic he's going.

We're just taking on that liability I assume and they get a player they hope is of some use in exchange.

let's see how it works out.

Maybe the only part of this I’m not wild about is the opportunity cost of minutes to Dibling.

But I also don’t think Ndiaye-Dibling work as a wing duo with a pair of starting fullbacks who can’t play.

I don’t think any wingers work with our fullbacks, well maybe prime Robben & Ribery

If you compare their careers and stats then Johnson is obviously the better player. McNeil isn't cut out for this level and I've absolutely no idea what Palace are seeing in him.

I do worry where the goals are coming from in our team outside of KDH, so it's a positive sure.

It will be interesting to see what the Palace fans think, I'll have a bit of a snoop.

Definitely feels like we are getting the better end of this potential deal
