Surely even we weren't daft enough to waste 2 years by repeatedly rushing him back, just assumed he was done physically. Turns out we were that stupid. Massive credit to the current management team and DCL himself for his current fitness
It didn't help that we've been in relegation battles for the past couple of years and haven't had the backup strikers to appropriately cover for him so it always felt like he had to come back urgently.

But originally I thought also that he was just done physically so I'm glad he is able to keep up this run.

If he stays fit, continues to perform like one of the best #9’s in the league and bags consistently do you think Chelsea are throwing a king’s ransom at us for him?

Because of his injury record even if he has a relatively injury free season it'll keep teams away tbh.

Think he'd need at least 2 seasons of bagging and being injury free before anyone would come sniffing.

I'd love 2 years of injury free DCL getting deep into double figures each year then moving for a huge fee.

That's definitely a win/win for all involved.

Genuine top striker. Got absolutely everything. Unfortunate for him that he's had a couple of years robbed by injury. Bloke was getting on the end of his own flick-ons in that match last night. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, can't see anyone throwing £60m+ at a player that's had his injury record unless he could show it was definitely all behind him now.

Crazy to think he is still only 26

A rolls-royce when at the peak of his game; if Dele gets into gear, these two could forge some partnership - class

Beto n him remind me of Baines n Oviedo situation. Beto is a good striker for a club at our level but a fit DCL is altogether at a different level.

Apparently Newcastle are lining him up for next summer, probably the best club to be in for him with their money, if he stays fit for the rest of the season what would he go for, £80m? More or less? Ivan Toney is reportedly going to Arsenal for £100m and he’s out of contract soon.
Hopefully with a season behind them, Beto and Chermitti will be ready to step up.

They've got Wilson and Isak though and both have great scoring records over the past year... Would be very surprised if there's anything in that rumour tbh

If we ‘replace’ Dom with Beto and Chermitti, then we are absolutely fucked.

He’s absolutely outstanding imo. I think any top club should be sniffing around him to have in their squad.

I don’t know, I really hope Beto is going to step up and be our talisman.
