I suspect that Dyche’s issue with him is more around his availability than his performance on the pitch.

Dyche likes to keep the 11 as consistant as possible, so preferred the likes of Godfrey there as he could play 5 games in a row which Patterson doesn’t seem to be able to do

At the moment, even an injured Patto would be a better option than Liability Young. The lad can’t have picked a better time to come back into the side.

We are getting to the stage where he becomes the only logical option by default. Young is regressing and started here poor and Coleman is injured all the time.

In all likelihood Patterson is shite too though. He's done nothing defensively and very very little offensively. Like others have said we've let him down. He should have been out on loan or playing sparingly for us in a much less chaotic environment l. We've probably missed the boat now

I haven't given up on him as it is a combination of factors including unlucky injuries but his lack of progress from a just turned 20 year old when we bought him to a 23 year old next month has been lamentable. Those are years where you really should be developing rapidly.

It is pretty poor that he's not our starting RB considering the options there and how long he's been here now. Obviously injuries have played some part but not massively. You/I can't blame Dyche forever for him not being in the team, but I wouldn't be surprised if he became a very good player somewhere else or under a different manager here.

Marco will probably buy him at Fulham just to rub more salt into the wounds.

He’s not shit. He’s hot shit.

I remember his debut before we Evertoned him - his touch under pressure was fantastic. I thought ‘what a baller’.

He also has lots of bite and aggression. Maybe a bit too much, or maybe needs more experience to ensure it doesn’t become a liability at this level where every snide tries to con the ref.

Anyway, I reckon he’ll be fucking awesome, given a full season or so.

He hasn’t got a career here under Dyche.

Pretty clear this is the case. Lampard didn't rate him either......he's got potential and needs to get a run in the team when he's back fit because Seamus cant be trusted to last 10 minutes and Ashley Young is well, not young. If Patto has nothing else at least he has a bit of pace on the overlap and puts the opposition on the back foot. He needs to improve on the defensive and positional part of the game but they are the things that can be coached if he's given another chance.

Our best players are the 1s that aren't good enough to get into the team and prove they are awful.

Let's be honest here he's behind young and Coleman. That's an extremely low bar he hasn't been able to get over. Chances are he's absolutely crap. That's the logical explanation

Doubt it given he was dropped for Coleman for the Doncaster game, had Ashley Young subbed on ahead of him and only finally came on to move Young forward to prevent him getting a second yellow.

He came here a Scottish international who was a really good prospect and has been extremely mismanaged by both Lampard and dyche he is absolutely better than young but young is dyches go to man whenever there is a hole in the team Patterson should be either loaned or sold in January so that a better coach can get his career back on track he won’t be playing here so needs to go unfortunately

He's been rubbish though. He came here having played a handful of games in Scotland and neither manager has fancied him at all. At some point some of it has to be about his ability

Weren't you shouting for simms cannon and dobbin??

Dyche doesn’t seem to like Patterson at all, though.

He cuffed him round the lughole, plus he doesn’t even call him Patto anymore :o
