Sounds like he either needs to buy something sensible or get some advanced driving lessons, apparently it's about the 4th car he's wrecked in recent years.

Its proper strange. He must have been driving fucking fast to destroy a car hitting a tree.

Yeah, glad he's alright but I am side-eyeing the whole incident.

Some witness saying the road was slippy with the storm but even these perfomance cars can be driven to the conditions and have traction control systems. I could understand snow or ice but I wouldn't think the roads were that bad if you drove to the conditions.
Got a broken leg apparently.

Yeah we drove to see Santa at a garden centre yesterday, was blowing around 50mph and heavy rain. Absolutely no problem whatsoever, just drove a small amount slower and got there and back without even the slightest issue.
I guess a footballer with a £200k car isn't going to drive 50mph on a 60 road though and that's how these things happen. Looking at the car he's clearly been going very fast to have caused that much damage.
Could have been a lot worse for him but also others so I hope the incident is fully investigated and charges brought if he has indeed been driving recklessly.

Lucky boy! The messages a few of my West Ham supporting mates were getting from home said that first responders found him in the passenger seat, dazed and confused. Lucky he got thrown there otherwise he's a goner.

He's done the former.

Most people are able to drive safely around the roads. If you cant sensibly use a high powered vehicle, don't be a risk to yourself and others and just dont drive.
Smacks of trying to blame someone else for his own actions.

Yeah, I still side-eye the whole thing. I might be being unfair though.

He was defo speeding.
A long country road, not many people about because of the storm, its a new car and he wants to open it up.
But he is a rubbish driver and loses control.
It is his fault, he was likely being reckless.
But it also seems like he has learnt his lesson, and hopefully this is the end of him driving like a twat.
He should be very thank ful that not many people were about that day so he isnt on trial for manslaughter.

Said it before but even with the power in these cars the back end doesn't keep "swinging out" on you if you're driving them carefully and within the car's limits and to the conditions. It's a bit convenient that he doesn't remember anything of the crash.

Sorry, autocorrect.
Trying to blame "something else" anything other than his own actions. And attempting to garner concern for his own well-being.
'I nearly died' rather than 'i could have killed someone'
'i might not have played again'
'it was difficult for me'
Passive comments like 'the car was swinging out on me'
Yeah, you can die behind the wheel of a car, or even kills others if you don't use it properly.
Excuses, or extra colour(?) having 'the death of his father' and 'the breakup of his marriage' mentioned.
It's an image management PR exercise dressed up as an interview IMO.
