Lots of great players who would walk into this team. But Cahill for me. His heading ability was as good as anything the PL has seen, and got 5-10 league goals a season from midfield which is a great return.

A proper leader as well. That team had leaders all over the pitch.

Never been so disappointed about missing out on a player as I was when we seemed to have Manuel Fernandes all sewn up, only for him to appear a few hours later in a Valencia shirt. One of those players who was just exciting to watch, a bit of a maverick, totally unpredictable and added a bit of something different.

Think fernandes has become a bit of a myth. Did quite well with us but nothing much anywhere else. Bit mad to pick him over arteta, pienaar or cahill

It was more that in the short time that he was here, he had people off their seats with his tricks and flicks. You just didn't know what he was going to do next. It was exciting to watch a player strutting his stuff and doing something a.little bit different with the ball at his feet. You're quite right, he didn't really pull up any trees anywhere else, and in retrospect, I do think we may have dodged a bullet. It was good while it lasted though.

Youtube player, one game against Arsenal and a banger against Utd and that was about it. One of the most over rated players to play for us.

He was massively overrated, but we were crying out for a bit of flair and entertainment, and he provided it for a little bit.

It would have to be either Lee Gravesen or Tommy Carsley.

One of the most underrated geniuses I've ever seen.

His goal away at Arsenal took the piss.
Bad shout. He just never had enough end product for us to be considered a top five player of the Moyes era.

Baines for me, what a great creative outlet he'd be on the left flank.

Just take 18 year old Rooney. You could argue it’s the purest version before he got a bit too sanitized by Fergie.

Think about how dominant some of his performances were at Euro 2004
