No we're one bad injury or suspension away from JOB being in the team. It'd take two for Keane to be in.
What if he is rb

Already covered this, Moyes hasn't played JOB at RB and Keane at CB, if either Tarks or Branthwaite were out he'd play JOB there and Patterson or Young at RB.
We'll buy a RB (or loan one), so JOB will only play there when that player is out injured or rotated when appropriate, but Moyes has shown he isn't interested in Keane at CB and JOB at RB.
There's a world where both the RB is out and a CB where we could have Keane at CB and JOB at RB (depending on what happens with Patterson), but in that case we'd be playing someone like Myko at CB if we didn't have Keane which is no better / probably worse.
I'd be more concerned had Moyes shown an inclination to do what you're suggesting, but he hasn't, in fact he's done the opposite.

Surely Keane and a good young right back is the better option then. Given that they'll be more opportunities to play at right back than for a 4th centre half

Says so much about his belief in himself if he’s willing to be 4th choice here. I can’t think of a more psychologically fragile player.
Probably just wants to keep the family where it is.

We’ve just signed a 2 year deal for the lad from the U21s who is a left footed CB. Played 32 times and scored once in the Scottish PL last season on loan.
Let’s not have any more of this Keane nonsense.

The sad thing about it is that when he's playing with confidence, he's actually a pretty decent and perfectly competent centre half. The big problem is that as soon as he makes even the tiniest error, he falls to pieces and will be absolutely fucking woeful for the next few weeks.
He's the absolute definition of a confidence player. If he could learn to bounce back from his errors on the pitch, he'd absolutely be worth a new deal. He doesn't bounce back though and that creates panic across the entire back line.

I know some will not be happy but it seems fine to me.
We need a 4th choice CB, Tarkowski might take time to return, and JOB will likely spend some time at RB.
I doubt though that Keane will play a lot and assuming wages are reasonable it's one less player to find this summer.

I really thought for his own mental health a fresh start elsewhere would have been next all round. He is not blind to the criticism and abuse he gets, he's back so
