Although I’d love us to appeal and wipe the floor with these bent so and so’s

I think they’ve set a precedent for themselves and have opened a can of worms they’ll regret opening. I don’t think we should appeal only because Once they try to take on the wealth of city and chelsea they’re gonna regret even introducing ffp or whatever they want to call it as if their “punishment” doesn’t reflect the crime it opens a case for efc to sue them for all sorts of legal breaches.

All the way to the CAS lads.

Everything before that is a vested interest I suspect

So how do the next set of accounts compare to the first of the three years this references? Is there a likelihood that if we were working on the same numbers that we're going to get a second charge brought about when we release the accounts in the new year?

I think one more year if being reasonable would have brought us under the £105m anyway.

Big issue is that it's only £105m if owners have added money to the club (via shares I think) in that period. So we'll need 777 to pony up or it drops to something daft like £15m a year

Would love us to stick two fingers up to the Premier League at the end of the season.
Despite your best efforts and completely disproportionate punishment, you still couldn't get fucking rid of us!

COYB!

They’ll probably wait until the end of the season, see how many pts are needed to relegate us, and change the penalty to exactly that amount.

I don't think that's clear yet, but given the immediate application it'd surely have to be within this season.

Different Federation and country but this happened to Juventus last season:

On 20 January 2023, Juventus were deducted 15 points as punishment for capital gain violations. The decision, subjected to appeal, was reversed on 20 April 2023. On 22 May 2023, Juventus were deducted 10 points as punishment for capital gain violations. The decision is subject to appeal.

As fucked off as I am about this and the unfairness of how quickly they processed ours but left the big boys alone, thankfully I think SD has got us to a position in our playing style and ability to get us out of this and shove a big middle finger up the FAs ass !!
COYBs middle table here we come !

Sir Stealth wrote: Fri Nov 17, 2023 5:43 pm Absolutely stinks this like but can’t see it getting reversed so we’ve got to just suck it up and get on with it. Feel like this practically ensures we will be in a relegation scrap this season. In good form at the moment but things change quickly and you could definitely see one of the teams down with us improving at some point form wise. To assume we will go from back to back relegation scraps to 10 points clear of the bottom 3 is wildly optimistic

Just hope the siege mentality we will surely adopt is enough to unite us and power us on
I think on appeal it will get reduced. The report is very harsh on a couple of counts. In particular the gylfi thing.

For me though we now know where we are, Over the rest of the season we basically have to win one more game than Burnley, sheff United and Luton and we stay up. If the deduction gets reduced then there isn’t an issue.

This is as bad as it gets for us and it’s not that bad. The players need to pull us back out of the bottom 3 sharpish and we can get on with life without any of this hanging over us.

Won’t we still have the threat of Shef Utd., Burnley and Leicester suing us for countless millions ?
